FBI Foils New Year's Eve Bomb Plot in Southern California.
The suspects—Audrey Illeene Carroll, Zachary Aaron Page, Dante Gaffield, and Tina Lai—belonged to a radical offshoot of the Turtle Island Liberation Front, mixing pro-Palestinian views with anti-government and decolonization ideologies. Dubbed Operation Midnight Sun, the plot involved planting pipe bombs at five locations in Los Angeles and Orange County, with evidence like PVC pipes, chemicals, fuses, and manuals found at their Mojave Desert site. Attorney General Pamela Bondi called it a massive terror plot, while FBI Director Kash Patel noted a fifth suspect detained in New Orleans. Officials praised the arrests for stopping an imminent threat to public safety.
