The Raiders defense is the stronger of the two units..no doubt.
However how can so many people be jumping on the riders for next week?

Am I missing something? Russel is still the Q.B right?

Maybe you know something that I am missing but even K.C moved the ball on the Raiders and had more than double the yardage too.

Denver has a better defense than the Raiders and has a more efficient offense as well.

the Only edge I give to the Raiders is the fact they are playing at home.
I don't think that is enough to offset the teams actual talent.

Denver always seems to beat Oakland when Oakland is at home. I see it being a 3 pt game.

well like the Raiders wierd win, the Broncs beat Cincy in a play of sheer luck and then beating the Browns really ain't sayin much.

That said, there's no way I can play this game on either side. Our QB situation (Russell) sucks but our defense is the real deal. The additions of Seymore and Ellis are paying immediate dividends. As for Denver i really can't put a finger on em except for the fact that Orton is pretty decent.

only thing consistent is Denver owning Oakland. However the Raiders have been able to sneak in a few games from them (e.g. blowouts) over the passed few years.

I'd pass on it myself specifically because of our QB

coin flip imo, but leaning Denver. They will probably get good field position since Russel can't move the ball, and I don't see the Raiders holding them to 10 points like they did the Chiefs. But since Russel has looked so horrendous maybe he'll improve, he looked a little bit better at the end of last year.

I made a few plays on this yesterday and took the broncos at +2.5 for 2 units.

It isn't a significant move in terms of key numbers but the line has dropped to -1 .

I made another 2 unit play on the under since Denver has a conservative offense that features alot of rushes. ( 37 rushes against the Browns, and only 20 against the Bengals though)

The Raiders have a much better defense than the Browns and I would say comparable or a bit less than the Bengals.

I think this game will be a low scoring game since Oakland offense will not put up more than 10 points, if that, against the Broncos.

the Broncos will not put up as many as they did against Cleveland . Good spot for an under

I got the line at 36.5 and is currently at 36 .

Played a little teaser Broncos +9.5, Den/Oak Under 43.5 and titans +10 risk 2 units to win 3

I say Broncos are a slight favorite against the Raiders. This is a coin flip.

i think this might be where you are missing something

Sorry I just re read my post. In reference to being the better of the two units, I meant Oakland's Offensive unit compared to their defensive unit. I was not comparing Oaklands D to Denvers.

I agree that Denver has the better D.

JetPlane ..... what about the Raiders would qualify them as a sheet favorite over Denver? Is it a system or trend play ?

Oakland should be happy if they can put up one offensive T.D

The line movement is crazy. That's a huge move so early in the week? Did sharps pound Denver at +2.5 to move them all the way to -1 or more at some shops?

the Broncs beat Cincy in a play of sheer luck

No...They beat Cincy because they shut them out for 59+ minutes. And it looks even better since Cincy proceeded to drop 31 on GB in GB.

That being said....I agree that the side is the very definition of a coin flip. Throw out all of the "Denver owns Oakland" angles b/c alot of that was Shanny's personal revenge angle with the Al Davis $$$ thing.

Orton hasn't looked all that but he is winning. I've watched the Browns game 3 times now and it is clear that his WR's are missing plenty of reads and Orton is doing well by throwing it away to where they were supposed to be instead of improvising and throwing into double or triple coverage. (Ala Cutler)

It's way early but Denver's defense has been nails when compared to LY. Same goes for Oakland.....They were flying around the field vs. SD (even though SD eventually put points up) and looked good again vs. the Chiefs even though KC has all kinds of problems on offense.

35-1/2 seems all kinds of low when looking at trends between these two but the under certainly passes the eye test to me when reviewing both teams first 2 games.

Denver's new DB set up of Champ, Dawkins, Goodman and Hill should have no problem shutting down the likes of DHB & Murphy. And their run D has shown me enough that they won't let Bush and Run DMC get off (especially when they can cheat up with 8 in the box b/c of J'Marc. Zach Miller could hurt them though as good TE's always seem to eat up Denver's LB's.

Counter that with a better than average Oakland defense (stats notwithstanding) up against a Denver offense that is still struggling to get everyone on the same page...Orton, Moreno & Marshall all missed significant time in pre-season while trying to learn a new offense...And the fact that McD is beating Orton over the head with "Go ahead and throw it away, just don't lose it for us" type of attitude....

I'm sold on the under but this is the NFL so it will probably be 31-28 somebody with 4 D/ST scores. ^<<^

I think Denver's defense is for real, they looked good in preseason, too.

The way Russel has been playing this could get real ugly, real fast.

Oakland past four H2H vs Denver averaged 165 yds rushing with no game less than 150

That kind of ball control and Home Field bode well for The Greatness

And before anyone gets too amped up about the Denver defense, let's remember that prior to the game in Cincy two weeks ago, Broncos previous 15 Away they allowed avg of 31 ppg.

Over past two seasons, Denver has four times played Away coming off of a HomeWin. They lost all four.
