Here's a few:

- Boise only had 4 more yards than Uconn and still won by 17. Scored 2 defensive TDs
- Mizzou only 23 more yds than UCF but were +3 TO and won by 28
- West Va out gained Maryland 694 to 447 but needed a last second FG to get the victory

A few mas:

Utah St out gained Wake 391 to 222 but failed to cover as Wake scored 2 TDs off turnovers
Okla got a 100yd pick 6 to get the cover against Tenn in a game that appeared to be a little closer than the final score would indicate.
Colo out gained Az St. 545 to 426 but were done in by -3 TO, although they did get the $

I was looking at the Rice vs. Texas A&M box score.

A&M won 38-10 as Hill had 4 TD passes.

However, I can't figure out how Rice scored just 10 points. They had 240 running yards and 241 passing yards. They had 28 first downs (to 23 for A&M). They had 91 offensive plays to 59 for the Aggies. They had no turnovers and led time of possession (43:14 to 16:46).

Rice did have 6 punts while A&M had just 4 and had 8 penalties for 66 yards. Rice must have missed some field goals and not been successful on 4th downs.

Anyone watch this game?

Texas finding another way to lose a game... not the Bruin''s final 33 yard pass to lock it up with one play drive with 3 min. left on the scoreboard in the 4Q to end it, not Neuheisel's first TD pass of his career in the 3rd quarter... none of that heroic stuff that makes it into someone's scrapbook... nope. All of those things are too normal to consider bigtime gamechangers, hardly Texas enough to qualify...

Nah... Texas sealed its fate when it blew the coin toss.

I heard Charlie Strong was a defensive minded coach, but that was ridiculous.

on the one drive central michigan scored(the opening drive), they gave up 5 sacks and fumbled the ball twice. 40-3 is misleading, shouldve been 70-0

Not so much a misleading score, but I just watched one game this weekend and here's my observations from PSU-Rutgers.

Penn State D-Line completely manhandled Rutgers O-Line
Rutgers D-Line completely manhandled Penn State O-Line

Penn State hadn't done anything significantly rushing vs UCF and Akron and Rutgers D-Line wasn't overly impressive vs Washington State and Howard so it's safe to say Penn State's offensive line is extremely weak. When they get in vs some of the more talented Big Ten teams, I don't see how they are going to score any points. Franklin has been coming up with quick passes and gadget plays to move the ball. They'll probably be a 3-4 point dog at home to Ohio State. A ~7 pt road dog at Michigan. A 7-10 pt home dog to Michigan State. I don't see how they win ATS in any of these three games unless the O-Line gets better FAST. It's unfortunate that their line is so weak because Penn State has lots of skill position talent. Hackenberg looks like he could be an elite pocket-passer QB but he's not mobile enough to handle a rush. His feel for the pass rush is also poor and he takes a lot of unnecessary sacks instead of throwing it away. They do have a couple good play maker WR's and Decent RBs too. But they were rendered useless for most of the game because of poor pass blocking. Their center in particular (Mangiro) was completely over matched. Against big, tough DT's, it won't even be fair.

The Penn State defense has looked decent but I'm hesitant to give them too much credit. The Front 7 is ahead of the secondary. Rutgers had 5 INTs but they were entirely created by either 1. Poor Rutgers WR play and 2. Intense pass rush/poor pass blocking. Vs a good offensive line and good QB, I think the secondary will get sliced up. They are now 3-0, but there's lots of against-the-spread fade value here on this team when they face tougher defenses.

There was fumble late in the opening drive that Syracuse recovered. The ref ruled he was down. Replay the showed a clear fumble. Somehow the replay official didn't want to bother the zebras on the field.

I emphasize could. I don't get how everybody in the Big Ten and nationally somewhat are anointing this guy as some great QB on potential. Yeah, he could be great. But like you said, he hangs on to the ball way too long and he has more INT's the TD's. We heard the same blah, blah with Devin Gardner last year. I agree Penn State won't be undefeated much longer. They needed 5 ints to beat Rutgers by 3.

I agree he's getting too much hype he hasn't earned yet. But in his defense, that O-Line is atrocious. He's got the tools to be a big time QB but the decision making is not there yet and he's making some bad throws with the heat on.

They are -27 vs UMass this week and they'll probably roll them and then Northwestern will come into State College and probably be getting 8 or 9 next weekend at home. I will definitely be taking the points there and then laying them when they face Michigan two weeks later.
