Wake Forest out gained Syracuse 419-370 while losing 30-17, the Demon Deacs were -3 TO. Cuse was 1-9 on third down but hit two bombs for TDs in the 4th qtr and returned a pick 6 as well. Can we say they Deak'd it?

This is a weird one, Arkansas out gained Toledo 515-318 and somehow lost the game 16-12, they were -1 in TOs. Suey could only muster 100yds rusing on 30 carries against a MAC defense.

Texas wins over Rice 42-28.
Rice controlled the clock 43min to 17min
Rice outrushed Texas 228 to 139
Rice outpassed Texas 234 to 128 (Texas only threw 10 passes)
Texas recovered a Fumble and returned it 69 yds for a TD
Texas returned a punt 85 yd for a TD
Texas recovered a fumble inside Rice 10 and scored TD two plays later.
Texas got 21 points from defense and special teams
This is one of those deceptive box scores. Rice could easily have won this game

The Arkansas loss is a big head scratcher....

What's weird is why are they trying to throw the ball 50 times when they already have an offensive identity? Did they just all the sudden lose the ability to run the ball are were they trying to get fancy and work on some things during the cupcake portion of their schedule?

Here's another stat on that game, Arkansas is the first FBS team in the last 10 years to have over 500yds total offense with 1 or zero turnovers and score 12 or fewer points.

I wouldn't at all call Wake-SYR a misleading final score. Sure, Syracuse benefited from the big plays, and that shows up in the ypp category which they clearly had an advantage in -- but that stat usually tells the tale of the tape.

My only guess as to how Arkansas turned over 500 yards of offense into just 10 points is that they were playing on one of those new 200 yard fields, lol.

Time of possession is a worthless stat to look at, and is in fact more likely to indicate the opposite thing you are looking for. A team is not worse because they score points quicker while the other team grinds away in futility.

It's the same with the Texas game -- while total yards do mean something, they don't mean as much as yards per play.

I have been emphazing that for a few years now. Look how many two minutes or less drives TCU has had in the past couple of years.
