As mentioned in earlier posts I don't play much in Week 1. However, there will only be one game on the board that I like. Most of my situational systems don't kick in until the following weeks, especially in conference play. That is one of several variables I usually look at. You can call me Joe Public on this play, but I don't really care and I'll tell you why. The public more than holds their own early on in the season because they like to play bullies. One of the best bullies is Joe Paterno. For instance, let's take a look at Joe Pa's opening game the last two games. He has won the game by a combined score of 125-10 which is insane. His team also has one of the loudest and craziest stadiums in all of football. What impressed me last year was what he did to Oregon State. He beat them 45-14 which turned out to look real impressive later on considering the fact that Oregon State beat USC and was a serious threat to make the ROSE BOWL last year. Why would line be under 30? Akron has played solid ATS wise against the Big 10 usually with big lines. Furthermore, the last time we saw Penn State they got roasted by USC. Akron also returns their QB and some playmakers on offense. However, Penn State has a superior athletic edge on defense to offset this even with some newcomers in the secondary. I expect Penn State to come out fully motivated after a disappointing taste in their mouth from the Rose Bowl loss.

You too, Hopefully the new guys (especially the WR and DB's) step up for Penn State although they still have a good front 7 and two Heisman candidates on offense

Each game I play will have the same amount of money on it. I can't predict turnovers and penalties so I just play the same amount on each. Looks like alot of the public is on Penn State as expected. No matter what happens it is going to be a bloodbath (either a Penn State blowout or a Public Bloodbath)
WE ARE , PENN STATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Let's GO PENN STATE -27

another bump since the line jumped a few points---I"m happy to be
at -27
I heard JoePa hinting he wil have Royster and Green in at the same time which is good since Royster's backup (Green) runs in the 4.25 range, You can't keep that kind of speed on the bench

0-1 ATS for the week and 0-1 ATS for the year
Tough loss-----Penn State was up 31-0 at half and covering at the half, but still didn't cover---They missed a few FG's and had a big turnover around midfield which gave Akron some momentum and the score was 31-7----I'm trying to comprehend how they couldn't score in the 2nd half---even a FG would have been a push---I would compliment the Akron defense, but I can't. This is the same defense that gave up 31 points in a half. Back next weeek.

Hey Penn State , Screw You---------

Hey Guys "Lets go up 31-0 and cover at half and then score 0 points in the 2nd half and lose the cover", You would think the 5th-string Waterboy would be good for a FG so I could at least get a push. Maybe he is the next Bobby Bouche. Unbelievable. Hopefully, a bad beat is out of the way.
