week 1 nfl picks

the first pick i have put in this year is:

az -2.5
1. arians is the man as far as i'm concerned. the guy has proven himself in 3 different organizations. if palmer hadnt gone down they may have been playing in the super bowl last year.
2. NO down swing continues this year. wouldnt be surprised to see them go 4-12 or 5-11. drew brees getting older and throwing more picks. i think he doesnt have the zip he used to and his lack of height and exacerbates his loss of arm strength. jimmy graham is gone., colston has looked great for a couple of years now. brandin cooks looks good, but az defensive back field is a strength.
3. i will take the better team at home giving up less than 1 fg.
4. saints organization has been in a free fall ever since the bounty gate thing. sean payton is allegedly addicted to pain pills and rob ryan has been a joke for years now.

i'm also taking the dolphins -4 (even though its seems like a trap to some people)
1. really wish rg3 was starting but cousins has shown he can turn the ball over in the worst possible situations. he only has 9 starts under his belt and the miami defensive front should be able to harrass him into some turnovers.
2. i think the dolphins are a much better team than the redskins. i think the redskins finish 4-12 or so, and this won't be one of their wins.
3. i see the game as 27-17 or something in that neighborhood.
4. the public play wins sometimes, and this is one of those times IMO

1. most games in the nfl are close, and this is too many points
2. i think line is inflated because people look at what pats did after last scandal, when they blew people out every game. this is different this year. they lost alot of leadership on d with wilfork gone. revis not a leader but top 2 corner is gone.
3. brady spent time and emotion fighting this deflate thing all summer. the team has got to be fatigued. just won a super bowl on a spectacular last minute play and then controversy all summer.
4. steelers are not chopped liver, they will be able to score.
5. pats have started slow the last couple of years.
6. i'll take my chances with 7 bonus points

giants +6.5
1. kind of the same reasoning as with my steelers pick. most games in nfl, especially divisional games are close. giants have a 4 game losing streak vs cowboys, but prior to that they have shown the ability to win in dallas.
2. 2nd yr in the offense for eli. i think the giants can put about 24-27 points up in this game and that should get them the cover, even with how bad their d will probably be.
3. line is probably inflated due to America's team playing on primetime and they are supposed to be really good

eagles -3
1. chip kelly is going to get his points in this game. atl will probably get theirs too but atl d is putrid. eagles d is respectable
2. bradford was made for the type of offense he is in. not what he was running in stl. i think he's going to have a monster year.
3. nfc south will probably have another losing record team win their division
