Money Talks on CNBC and Horseplayers on Esquire
Enjoy it while it lasts because gambling tv shows/movies are few and far between
Studies show that 2-5% of Americans suffer from gambling addictions. These outcomes can be horrifying and devastating to people and their families. At any rate the result won't be a positive one.
Clearly the appeal of these show prey on people’s emotions. It shows outcomes to be expected to be positive or profitable.
Steve Stevens is a piece of shit. Clearly he has NO knowledge of sports or sports wagering. He does understand some things about people's weaknesses and how to take advantage of them.
The public has some expectation for CNBC to be a serious network. One that is not looking for Bigfoot around every corner.
Stevens can't be ashamed because he is oblivious to that. Shame carries with it the feeling that the guy would have to understand what a shit and thief he is.
CNBC should be absolutely ashamed and fined or disciplined in some way for promoting this filth. This show glorifies an illness that affects millions of people.
When does the show begin extolling the virtue, beauty, and loving outcomes from hardcore drug addiction?
Please be mindful….. If you every see Stevie Stevens in person….. whatever you do…… don’t give him a cent. Rather give him a shift kick in the twig and berries for the harm he does.
I don't know much about horse racing. I am smart enough to understand that the idea that these shills can all afford to jet around the country weekly to gamble on horses is ignorant. Maybe they are all trust fund crack babies. I don't know. The one yuppie in the headband appears to be.
Horseplayers just somehow feels more honest to me. Even as stupid as it is...... it admits that the players are losing their asses. (Unless if they win the "pipe-dream" contest) At least it does not glorify some black hole deal where they pretend money will always be made.
My points are simply these:
As fake as all touts are (pitifully fake) Stevens can't even "talk the talk".
Having the show on CNBC is like finding a full page ad on the front page of the Wall Street Journal.... "A twenty foot tall alien finds bigfoot in a hot tub with the Duck Dynasty crew".
I would think a formerly respected network would care about exposing such thieves and hucksters. Not giving them credibility.
I'm sure Murph could
