said it in another thread and putting my money behind it now: haren is the best pitcher in either league right now and i will continue to back him at anything less than -200. if san diego's AAA offense finds a way to scrap some runs off him, i will glady take the loss. as good as guys like lincecum, halladay, and beckett can be, i will take haren over any of them right now. a 7/5 lay is very reasonable for haren's current form.

doesnt hurt that haren has dominated the pads during his stints in the national league. almost a strikeout an inning and san diego batting close to .200 against him. its baseball ... anything can happen (and poor run support can be an issue). but good reason to think arizona takes this one.

a153 - i stand by my post. youre certainly welcome to disagree. there are obviously a handful of very good pitchers in this new generation. but right now, i will take my chances with haren against any of them. even on an off night, he is still very hard to crack. the fact that he pitches in the west doesnt matter much. some of his most dominant efforts have come outside of the division (and NL for that matter).

incidentally, lincecum isnt any less dominant because he pitches in the west. good pitching is good pitching.
