RECORD 7-2
SIDES 5-1
TOTALS 2-1
Denver brought home the money here last night.
Tonight I’ll leave the country and head to Canada looking for mo money.
Toronto is 0-5 ATS on backtobacks and Boston is 7-3 ATS on one days rest this year.
Toronto is 5-2 SU at home, ( 1-3 ATS as a home favorite) Boston is 3-5 as visitor SU .(4-4 ATS as a road dog). Based on the previous ATS records, the linesmaker has decided to instilled Toronto as only a 2 point home favorite.
The variables that led to Toronto’s results ATS have changed though. The big trade has brought some offense and better team work to Toronto (Carter career high 12 assists last night). I know that is only one game, but my liking Toronto tonight has more to do with Boston’s current struggles rather than Toronto’s new found one-game offense. Toronto and Boston are two teams heading in opposite directions. I’d rather ride up with Toronto than down with Boston.
As stated earlier, Carter had career high in assists. The following is what Pierce had to say about Boston’s team struggles, "It's very frustrating," said Pierce, who has led the Celtics in scoring in 12 of their 17 games this season. "Too many times we get stagnant on offense, a lot of guys depend on me to make a play every time down the court and it puts a lot of pressure on me. I don't think we understand how to play without me," he added. "I think that's going to be a key for us all year. The good teams understand how to play without their star player in the game."
Toronto with the second best defense in the league shut down Iverson yesterday. Look for them to do the same with Pierce tonight.
Bits and pieces from all over; SU:
In 2002-03, Toronto won 2 of the 3 contests with the Celtics; The Raptors won the only game at Toronto and split in Boston.
Overall, the Raptors have won 3 of the last 4 meetings.
Boston has lost 2 straight and 5 of its last 6 at Toronto
The Celtics are coming off a 96-89 home loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday. It was their second straight defeat and sixth in eight games overall.
Raptors, who have won 5 of their last 6 games.
Toronto 5-5, Boston 3-7 last 10
