KEY STAT: Four of the last five north London derbies have featured less than three goals

EXPERT VERDICT: Tottenham have won their last three games and new signing Son Heung-Min has hit the ground running with three goals in as many matches. Spurs are also looking solid at the back with the addition of Toby Alderweireld, so could frustrate an Arsenal team who lack killer instinct.

RECOMMENDATION: Draw

KEY STAT: Huddersfield have conceded in every game this term

EXPERT VERDICT: Huddersfield had to wait until their seventh game of the season to register a Championship win and followed that up with a 4-1 demolition of Bolton. Forest have won their last two away games and played well in defeat against Middlesbrough. Both teams could get on the scoresheet.

RECOMMENDATION: Both teams to score

KEY STAT: Falkirk are unbeaten in the last seven meetings at home

EXPERT VERDICT: Falkirk are unbeaten in the Championship this season and they can extend that unbeaten run at home to Queen of the South. The Bairns had won four on the bounce, before a 1-1 draw at Alloa and that sort of form is in a different league to The Doonhamers, who have lost four of their last five in all competitions.

RECOMMENDATION: Falkirk

KEY STAT: Dover have lost two of their last 24 home National League games

EXPERT VERDICT: Dover are a tough nut to crack at the Crabble where they are unbeaten this season. Woking, buoyed by being the first side to stop Forest Green, look solid enough to earn a point against stalemate specialists Dover, who have drawn six of their first 11.

RECOMMENDATION: Draw

KEY STAT: QPR have scored in their last nine league and cup games

EXPERT VERDICT: This west London Derby looks like being full of goals given both sides’ poor defensive records this term.Fulham have failed to keep a clean sheet in the league, while only the bottom two sides have conceded more goals than QPR this campaign. Rangers are also the joint-highest scorers.

RECOMMENDATION: Both teams to score

KEY STAT: The Dons have scored three goals in their last seven league games

EXPERT VERDICT: Wins against Rotherham and Bolton in their first three matches encouraged the Dons, but it’s now no wins in five for them after running into some of the Championship’s better sides. Derby are just such a team and are unbeaten in their last seven aways.

Jim Feist's Bonus Play for Wednesday, Sept. 23

(911) SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS VS (912) SAN DIEGO PADRES

Take: over the total.

Reason: Your Bonus Play for Wednesday, September 23, 2015 is in the MLB contest between the Giants and the Padres in San Diego at Petco Park. San Diego is a big park so oddsmakers make totals low here, but when these teams meet the over is 5-0, including 4-1 in this park. The Giants can hit, 5th in baseball in on base percentage, but they are stuck with aging Jake Peavy (4.08 ERA), with a 4.80 ERA on the road. The Over is 5-2 in Peavy's last 7 starts vs. a team with a losing record. San Diego starter Andrew Cashner (4.25 ERA). Cashner (6-15) was terrible on Friday, as he allowed five runs on nine hits and five walks across 4.2 innings in a loss to the Giants. San Diego is 16-4-1 over the total against a team with a winning record, plus 36-13-2 over the total overall. And the Over is 6-2 in Cashner's last 8 home starts. Play San Francisco/San Diego Over the total.

At the Gate - Wednesday
By Mike Dempsey

The Breeders’ Cup is now just over a month away and we have seven Breeders’ Cup Challenge “Win and You’re In’ races on tap on Saturday, five at Santa Anita and two at Belmont Park.

Entries for the races will come out this afternoon and a key race will be the $300,000 Awesome Again (G1) which serves as a prep for the $5 million Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1).

American Pharoah is the betting favorite for the Classic at 8-5, and the Triple Crown winner will train up to the Classic.

Beholder is the third choice in Classic betting at 6-1 and is being pointed toward the Classic, but will not take on the boys in the Awesome Again and instead will stick to her own sex as the likely chalk in the $300,000 Zenyatta (G1) on Saturday.

We have five stakes at Belmont Park on Saturday including the $600,000 Joe Hirsch Turf Classic (G1) and $400,000 Vosburgh (G1), which are both “Win and You’re In” races.

We will take a look at the Breeders’ Cup preps later this week and my selections and analysis for all of them will be in Saturday’s Best Plays Report.

Breeders’ Cup Classic Future Odds:
American Pharoah 8-5
Honor Code 4-1
Beholder 6-1
Keen Ice 8-1
Lea 10-1
Tonalist 10-1
Frosted 14-1
Gleneagles 14-1
Liams Map 16-1
Catch A Flight 25-1
Commissioner 25-1
Constitution 25-1
Dortmund 25-1
Prospect Park 25-1
Wicked Strong 25-1

Here is today’s opening race from Belmont Park to get the day off to a good start:

BEL Race 1 Clm $35,000N3L (12:55 ET)
#7 Groupthink 6-1
#1 Forest Boy 5-2
#5 Americas Guest 3-1
#3 Regal Minister 5-1

Analysis: Groupthink was scratched out of a good spot as my top pick a few days ago against $14,000 non-winners of three to run here for $35,000. He stalked the early pace and did not have enough punch left late in a third place finish, catching a racing strip at the Spa that was kind to inside speed that day. He was making his first start off the claim by the Gargan barn that does good work with recent claims. The gelding has a habit if landing in the bottom half of the exacta, but he looks well spotted here and the 6-1 morning line looks fair enough

Forest Boy was a game third last out against $50,00 non-winners of three at the Spa off a two month break, beaten just a couple of necks for the top spot. He beat $40,000 non-winners of two in his previous outing at Monmouth Park.

Wagering
WIN: #7 to win at 7-2 or better.
EX: 1,7 / 1,3,5,7
TRI: 1,7 / 1,3,5,7 / 1,3,5,6,7

Today’s Featured Race of the Day from Belmont Park:

BEL Race 8 Alw $62,000N1X (4:46 ET)
#5 Jc's Shooting Star 5-2
#4 Smilingsundae 2-1
#6 Forever for Always 5-1
#3 Resolutely 15-1

Analysis: Jc's Shooting Star is back on turf after making a good late rally to win the state bred Fleet Indian last out on the main track at the Spa going nine furlongs. Her last go on turf came two back where she was a good second in the maiden ranks. The winner of that race was Summersault, who came back to beat state bred Alw-1 foe sin her next outing on Sept. 6. She has a couple of sibs that have won on turf. The Donk barn is 24% winners (with a +ROI) moving runners from dirt to turf.

Smilingsundae tracked the early pace while under a hold and finished evenly in a runner up finish last out at this level at the Spa going 1 3/16 miles. She broke her maiden on dirt in a race washed off the grass three back here but has run okay on turf. She does not need to move forward all that much off her last effort to beat this group.

Wagering
WIN: #5 to win at 2-1 or better.
EX: 4,5 / 3,4,5,6
TRI: 4,5 / 3,4,5,6 / 3,4,5,6,7

Live Longshots:
These are price plays for exotic players looking to find a couple of extra contenders to use in their trifecta and superfecta wagers. Or for those with smaller bankrolls, you might want to get in a small win-place wager.

Belmont Park
R4: #7 Lawn Ranger 12-1
R4: #10 Skill Not Luck 12-1
R5: #2 All Day Lawn 12-1
R7: #1 Winter Wish 12-1
R8: #3 Resolutely 15-1

Good luck today!

# 2 ARTSPEAK 7/2

# 14 WIGGLE IT JIGGLEIT 2/1

# 6 LOST FOR WORDS 5/1

After thorough analysis by the knowledge group, ARTSPEAK comes out as the top selection. Seems to have a really strong class edge based on the opponents he has raced against. Considered a solid bet based solely on his high score percent. WIGGLE IT JIGGLEIT - Many smart handicappers know speed is of the utmost importance. This solid standardbred has credentials with a 101 avg figure. Most definitely the class of the group of horses with an average rating of 95. A nice contender. LOST FOR WORDS - The wagering panel noted a sharp showing out of this harness racer last time. Hoping for a repeat effort of that to dominate. My calculations say this Brown comes back solidly after a break and in good shape .

# 3 MAEVE QUAIDER 2/1

# 8 SOUTH SIDE HANOVER 20/1

# 5 AMERICAN WEE 15/1

Really keen on the chance of MAEVE QUAIDER taking down the winner's share for this race. This contender has shown us ability in its prior races, just look at the 71 average class figure. Should play well in here. With a magnificent driver, who has won at a formidable 25 percent rate the last 30 days, this has to be one of the best choices. The trainer/horse combination percentages point out that this pair are solid in the money finishers when working together. SOUTH SIDE HANOVER - Hard to put finger on it, but give the nod to her in this one. AMERICAN WEE - The handicapping team can't help but back this horse because the internal pace stats fit well here at Harrah's Philadelphia. It's somewhat risky to consider on class alone, but this filly has among the best class numbers of the group.

RECOMMENDED CHOICES

The Walker Group Picks

# 3 CHARMING A. J. 3/1

# 5 UNREMITTING 8/1

# 7 CHOCOLATIER 10/1

CHARMING A. J. is my choice. He has been racing soundly recently while recording sharp Speed Figures. I think having Collins ride this gelding is a smart move. With Collins controlling the reins on him, this gelding ought to be able to break out early for this event. UNREMITTING - Will most likely be one of the front-runners of the pack going into the halfway point of the contest. Gonzalez has been sizzling the last month, winning at a nifty 26 percent rate. CHOCOLATIER - The winning percentage shown by horses entered by Hernandez running at this distance are the strongest in this field. Ought to be given consideration - I like the figures from the last race.

RECOMMENDED CHOICES

The Walker Group Picks

# 2 WHISPERING WALL 7/2

# 6 CHATAHOOCHIE 4/1

# 3 CAPTAIN'S TALE 9/2

WHISPERING WALL supports the bet in here. Looks very good against this group and should be one of the leaders. Have to take a chance on this mare with the strong earnings per start in dirt sprint contests. McLean is very serious with this one, wheeling her back soon. CHATAHOOCHIE - She has been racing soundly as of late while recording strong speed figures. The Equibase speed fig of 67 from her latest contest looks respectable in here. CAPTAIN'S TALE - With a strong 62 average speed figure at the distance, seems well suited for today's contest. Players should probably take a good look at this one as this mare has one of the best win percentages at this distance in this group of animals.

DREXLER - This is the only real presser in the race. Entered last at Gulfstream in a race with a class figure of 88. Dropping considerably in class rating in today's event puts him in a solid position in this race. Ranks number one in the field in earnings per race. A dominant performance right here can augment that total. A repeat of that latest performance on July 26th where he recorded a rating of 71 looks high enough to triumph in this event. Sub-par try last time around the track at Gulfstream was due to the off-going (he finished fifth). Will most certainly do better in this field on a fast track.

Vulnerable Contenders: #3 NOBLE MASTER (ML=9/5), #6 HALIBUT COVE (ML=5/2), #2 PLEASE DON'T FLASH (ML=7/2),

NOBLE MASTER - Difficult to play any racer in a sprint event at 9/5 when he hasn't shown any on the board results in sprints in the last couple months. HALIBUT COVE - Trying to beat this one in today's event at the value of 5/2. PLEASE DON'T FLASH - Don't think this horse is worth 7/2 in this race.

Top HatGUEST COMMENTARY: Winston - DREXLER - I scan the TrackMaster Platinum PPs for this type of horse. Has the top TM Power Rating by at least 5 points.

#7 FAST PROMISES (ML=6/1)

FAST PROMISES - Have to make this gelding a win candidate; he comes off a sharp contest on September 5th.

Vulnerable Contenders: #4 HELLIECAT (ML=8/5), #6 ZEKE MCCOOL (ML=9/5), #3 SEVEN DAY FOOL (ML=5/1),

HELLIECAT - This horse doesn't have a winning make-up. Quite often finishes close, but no cigar. ZEKE MCCOOL - Hard to take this horse at the price after the finish position (fifth) in the last race. Should be difficult for this entrant to beat this field off of that last speed rating. Not likely to improve enough to run a figure close to today's Equibase class figure, so put him on the possibly overvalued contestants list. SEVEN DAY FOOL - You think this equine is going to win just because he's always close. Just doesn't win frequently. Unlikely that the speed rating he notched on August 25th will be enough in this race.

Northfield: Wednesday 9/23 Analysis + Pick Four ticket
By Jeremey Day

DRF HARNESS

Race 8 - $10,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Jeremey’s $1 Pick Four Play:

2,7 / 4,5,7 / 9 / 1,2,4 = $18

Best Bet: SOUTHWIND RAMBO (10th)

Spot Play: SPIES AN LIES (3rd)

Race 1

(5) FOREVER ROYAL three-year-old likes to race on the front and that's just what he will try and do; fires early. (7) UN POCO DE LOCO hits the board a lot but needs racing luck from the outside. (2) CEANA'S STAR has room to improve with a good post; threat.

Race 2

(3) NOODLES filly is just now back in racing shape and showed a nice closing move two back. (5) BROTHER DAN was an easy winner at this level last start. (1) BARELY A TRACE gets the best post and will offer a big price in a field full of question marks.

Race 3

In a tough race to gauge, (3) SPIES AND LIES just needs to stay trotting for a chance at a piece. (9) WEST RIVER VICTORY is 0 for 29 on the year but has been competitive at this level. (2) FORTUNE JAMES trotting gelding is handicapped by a low percentage pilot; use caution.

Race 4

(5) SARATOGA'S BEST pacing mare is 0 for the year but was improved first start in a new barn last week; threat. (1) SOUTHWIND MIAMI will look to drop and pop against weaker. (3) ALWAYS WEARABLE took heavy tote action last week at this level but just raced evenly; command a price.

Race 5

(2) CHARITY KID has been a cash burner at this level but should offer better value and looks to be in line for a nice trip up close. (4) ST ELIAN'S FIRE takes a big drop in class down to the bottom level. The 4-year-old only owns one win on the year and has trouble getting around the turns at times. (9) CINCINNATI MYSTRES has made the most money in the field on the year; threat.

Race 6

(1) Q COBRA JET pacing colt adds lasix for the second time getting sent out for a top barn. (5) KJ'S FLASH JORDAN paced a big mile last week showing good improvement. (4) STAND YOUR GROUND lightly raced pacer will be looking to make it four wins in six lifetime starts.

Race 7

(5) DECK THE HALLS will be used very aggressively for capable connections. (6) TRENTS RINGER doesn't look the best on paper but should offer value in against softer. (2) DIXIE REBEL five-year-old has the ability to get his picture taken but needs to mid his manners.

Race 8

(2) THE DOE filly put in a nice first effort last week for a new barn. (7) J K DELIGHT had trouble getting around the track when last seen here; use caution. (6) A FELLAS SECRET filly comes into the race off a miscue but was sharp the start prior.

Race 9

(7) ENRICHMENT raced super last start but does get sent out for a low percentage pilot. (5) STURDY'S BABY adds hopples for the first time and could show improvement. (4) WIN POWER has yet to be competitive at this level; command a price.

Race 10

(9) SOUTHWIND RAMBO takes a huge drop in class; big chance. (4) LITTLE AMOS is likely one of few threats to the top choice. (3) MEADWOBROOK SAMSON four-year-old gelding has beaten much better in his career. If the pacer can get around the turns he's a threat.

Race 11

(2) EXHIBITIONIST was bet down to the favorite last time out against a much better bunch. (1) SPYMISTRESS gets good post relief and will be used aggressively. (4) SABINE'S FILLY has just been racing evenly but does take a significant drop in class.

Race 12

In a weak and inconsistent field, (2) JACK ATTACK BROWN has been facing tougher and gets an ideal starting spot. (3) FOREVER HAPPY has just been racing evenly but will offer a big price in a wide open race. (1) GET GOIN MEL gets sent out for a low percentage pilot that rarely finds the winner's circle; use caution.

Race 13

(6) ARMBRO DOMI has been competitive on the year against much tougher. (3) IDONTTHANKYOUCAN can pace a very fast mile with a good setup; threat. (2) FLYING METRO could be overbet coming from the Red Mile but does add lasix for the second time.

Race 14

(1) LILLIAN ROAD filly put in a nice effort last week and gets the best post against similar. (7) ALLIE JO DALI takes a big drop down in competition but will need to find a way into the race. (2) KALLISTA well bred mare has been regressing; use underneath.

Race 15

(7) RIVER N ONIONS five-year-old pacer's last effort was really good and anything close to that gets the job done. (4) INGLORIOUS MUSTARD can jump up with a big mile from time to time; threat. (2) RONNY B FAST just missed at this level last out and should be closer turning for home.
