GAME: Cincinnati Reds (30-40) at Tampa Bay Rays (38-36)
DATE/TIME: Wednesday, June 21 - 12:10 PM EST
WHERE: Tropicana Field, St. Petersburg, Florida
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

The Tampa Bay Rays have a chance to move three games above .500 for only the third time this season when they host the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday afternoon in the rubber match of a three-game set. Tampa Bay held off a late rally by the Reds for a 6-5 victory Tuesday night -- its eighth victory in the last 11 games at Tropicana Field.

Rays left fielder Corey Dickerson hit his 16th homer and added an RBI single Tuesday, boosting his season average to .327 after going 12-for-36 over his last nine games. Logan Morrison put Tampa Bay ahead to stay with a two-run single, giving him 11 RBIs in his last eight games. Joey Votto reached 20 home runs for the eighth time in his career for Cincinnati, which has dropped 10 of its last 11 and is 11-22 on the road. Right-hander Tim Adleman will look to earn a series win for the Reds, who have allowed at least five runs in eight of the last 11 games.

TV: 12:10 p.m. ET, FSN Sun (Tampa Bay)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Reds RH Tim Adleman (4-3, 4.22 ERA) vs. Rays RH Erasmo Ramirez (3-2, 5.17)

Although Adleman had a five-start unbeaten streak halted in his last start, he still turned in a solid effort with six innings of two-run ball against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Adleman has permitted a total of eight runs over his last five starts, a stretch in which he's surrendered five home runs. Adleman has struggled away from home in his first two seasons, winning two of 11 road starts.

Ramirez is supplying few innings and giving up loads of hits over his last four outings, and is coming off an ugly start at Detroit in which he was battered for 10 runs (eight earned) in 4 2/3 innings. He has pitched a total of 17 innings during his rocky stretch and been reached for 21 runs and 32 hits. Ramirez has been solid at home, posting a 3-0 mark and 3.29 ERA in eight appearances (four starts).

WALK-OFFS

1. Rays RHP Alex Colomé earned his 20th save despite allowing multiple hits for the fifth time in his last nine outings.

2. Reds RHP Homer Bailey could make his season debut over the weekend versus Washington.

3. Rays SS Tim Beckham sat out Tuesday after taking a pitch off the hand Monday and also will miss the series finale.

GAME: Boston Red Sox (40-31) at Kansas City Royals (34-36)
DATE/TIME: Wednesday, June 21 - 2:15 PM EST
WHERE: Kauffman Stadium, Kansas City, Missouri
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

The Boston Red Sox find themselves in first place in the American League East on the strength of their 19-10 mark over the last 29 contests in addition to a season-worst seven-game swoon by their bitter rival in the Bronx. The visiting Red Sox aim to bolster their slim lead in the standings with a series victory against the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday afternoon when the teams play the finale at Kauffman Stadium.

Xander Bogaerts had a two-run single in Tuesday's 8-3 romp to run his hitting streak to a staggering 18 straight games versus the Royals. The 24-year-old is 7-for-14 with two homers and six RBIs in his last three contests overall and 3-for-6 in a small sample size versus Wednesday starter Ian Kennedy. Kansas City had won eight of nine before being silenced by Chris Sale, although Mike Moustakas belted a solo homer off the Boston ace to continue a blistering month of June (24-for-69, six homers, 20 RBIs, 12 runs scored). Jorge Bonifacio added a two-run shot to give him a run scored in three straight contests to go along with eight hits and as many RBIs in his last eight games for the Royals.

TV: 2:15 p.m. ET, MLB Network, NESN (Boston), FSN Kansas City

PITCHING MATCHUP: Red Sox LH Drew Pomeranz (6-4, 4.19 ERA) vs. Royals RH Ian Kennedy (1-6, 5.03)

Pomeranz rebounded from a brutal outing by recording a strong one, allowing one run on four hits in 6 1/3 innings of a no-decision at Houston on Friday. The 28-year-old's lone blemish in that contest was Brian McCann's solo homer - the fourth time the Ole Miss product has been taken deep in his last five trips to the mound. Pomeranz has limited experience in his career versus the current crop of Kansas City batters, who are a collective 1-for-7 against him with five strikeouts.

Kennedy was working on a perfect game against the Los Angeles Angels before Cliff Pennington's solo homer in the sixth inning put an end to that. The 32-year-old allowed just one more hit to pick up his first win, but his penchant for being taken deep has been an issue this season. Kennedy has surrendered a homer in each of his last nine outings, with 11 total coming in that stretch.

WALK-OFFS

1. Boston CF Jackie Bradley Jr. is 4-for-8 with a homer and two RBIs and two runs scored in the series and 17-for-45 in his last 12 games.

2. Kansas City 1B Eric Hosmer is 2-for-15 with six strikeouts in his last five contests.

3. Red Sox DH Hanley Ramirez, who has been plagued with a neck issue, is 3-for-19 with five strikeouts in his last five games.

GAME: San Diego Padres (28-44) at Chicago Cubs (36-34)
DATE/TIME: Wednesday, June 21 - 2:20 PM EST
WHERE: Wrigley Field, Chicago, Illinois
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

Despite some early-season struggles, the Chicago Cubs have a chance to sit atop the National League Central by the end of the day on Wednesday. The Cubs begin the day just one-half game behind division-leading Milwaukee as they aim for a fourth straight victory and a three-game sweep of the visiting San Diego Padres.

Some of the blame for Chicago’s disappointing start falls on an inconsistent lineup, but moving slugging first baseman Anthony Rizzo to the leadoff spot has helped spark the offense. Rizzo has reached base to open the game in all seven contests since moving to the top of the order, the longest streak by a Cubs leadoff man since Richie Ashburn in 1960. He’s the first player in the last 60 years to reach in his first plate appearance in each of his first seven games batting leadoff, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. The Padres swept a three-game home series against the Cubs last month but have continued their road woes in the first two games at Wrigley Field, dropping to 11-26 away from home with losses in nine of their last 11 road contests.

TV: 2:20 p.m. ET, MLB Network, FSN San Diego, WGN (Chicago)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Padres RH Miguel Diaz (1-1, 7.36 ERA) vs. Cubs RH Eddie Butler (3-2, 4.41)

Diaz still is getting stretched out after being used 21 times out of the bullpen over the first two months of the season. The 22-year-old rookie pitched two-plus scoreless innings in his first major-league start against Kansas City and gave up four runs and five hits over 3 1/3 frames at Milwaukee on Friday. Diaz hasn’t pitched in a Padres win since May 2, a span of 11 outings.

Butler hasn’t posted a quality start since his Cubs debut on May 12, but he has given his team a chance to win just about every time out. The 26-year-old matched his season high with 94 pitches in a no-decision at Pittsburgh on Friday, allowing four runs and four hits over 5 2/3 innings. Butler’s worst outing of the season came at San Diego on May 30, when he gave up six runs and seven hits over 4 1/3 innings of a loss.

WALK-OFFS

1. Rizzo is 21-for-50 with five home runs during his career-best 14-game hitting streak.

2. Padres 2B Yangervis Solarte left Tuesday’s game with a strained left oblique that will land him on the disabled list.

3. Chicago OF/2B Ian Happ hit his ninth home run Tuesday, the most by a Cubs player through his first 33 career games since Bob Speake hit 10 in 1955.

GAME: St. Louis Cardinals (32-37) at Philadelphia Phillies (22-47)
DATE/TIME: Wednesday, June 21 - 7:05 PM EST
WHERE: Citizens Bank Park, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

Michael Wacha has been battling both fatigue and opponents with marginal success this season, so much so that the St. Louis Cardinals right-hander may be pitching to remain in the starting rotation. Wacha will look to make his best pitch on Wednesday as the visiting Cardinals aim to continue their dominance of the Philadelphia Phillies in the second contest of a three-game series at Citizens Bank Park.

"We've talked about (reliever)," manager Mike Matheny told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch of Wacha, who has not pitched past the fifth inning in four of his last five starts. "He's built as a starter. There is no doubt about it. ... We need to help him get through those parts of the game that have been biting him." Yadier Molina has been providing some bite at the plate, as his third homer in as many contests highlighted a seven-run 11th inning in Tuesday's 8-1 triumph. While St. Louis has outscored Philadelphia 24-8 en route to winning all four encounters this season, the Phillies' offense hasn't been doing much of anything of late with just 31 runs while losing 12 of the last 13 contests.

TV: 7:05 p.m. ET, FSN Midwest (St. Louis), CSN Philadelphia

PITCHING MATCHUP: Cardinals RH Michael Wacha (3-3, 4.78 ERA) vs. Phillies RH Nick Pivetta (1-3, 4.46)

Wacha has posted a 1-2 mark with a bloated 8.86 ERA in his last five starts after allowing four runs in as many innings of a no-decision versus Milwaukee on Thursday. The 25-year-old's lone win in that stretch was a strong outing against Philadelphia, as he permitted two runs on five hits in six innings to improve to 2-2 in his career versus the club. Howie Kendrick is 7-for-14 in his last three games overall and 6-for-10 with one homer in his career against Wacha, although the hurler has kept Freddy Galvis (2-for-10) under wraps.

Pivetta outdueled Chris Sale in his last encounter, recording career highs in strikeouts (nine) and innings worked (seven) while scattering four hits in a hard-luck no-decision against Boston on Thursday. The 24-year-old's long outing marked the first time in seven starts that he ventured past the fifth inning. Pivetta will be making just his third start at home Wednesday, where he has yet to record a decision despite striking out 15 in 12 innings.

WALK-OFFS

1. Philadelphia 1B Tommy Joseph, who saw his career-high 14-game hitting streak to come to a halt on Tuesday, is 4-for-18 with four strikeouts versus St. Louis this season.

2. Cardinals 1B Matt Carpenter, who had an RBI double in the 11th inning, has hit safely in 11 of 13 games while moving into the leadoff spot in the order.

3. Phillies CF Odubel Herrera is 7-for-19 in his last four games on the heels of an 0-for-14 stretch.

GAME: Cleveland Indians (37-32) at Baltimore Orioles (35-35)
DATE/TIME: Wednesday, June 21 - 7:05 PM EST
WHERE: Oriole Park at Camden Yards, Baltimore, Maryland
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

The Baltimore Orioles finally slowed the Cleveland Indians' offense a bit, although their pitching staff remains on track to tie a dubious major league record. After snapping Cleveland's winning streak at six games, Manny Machado and the Orioles go for their fourth win in five games as the teams continue a four-game set at Baltimore's Camden Yards.

Manager Buck Showalter resisted the urge to move Machado to shortstop after J.J. Hardy suffered a broken wrist on the weekend and his third baseman looked locked in by belting a pair of homers as part of a 4-for-4 night in Tuesday's 6-5 victory. Still, the Orioles have plenty of concerns over after giving up at least five runs for the 17th consecutive game -- three shy of the major league mark set by Philadelphia in 1924. Indians third baseman Jose Ramirez, the American League Player of the Week, continued his sizzling tear with his eighth straight multiple-hit game. Designated hitter Edwin Encarnacion is 6-for-12 with three homers, eight RBIs and seven runs scored over the past three games for Cleveland.

TV: 7:05 p.m. ET, STO (Cleveland), MASN (Baltimore)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Indians RH Carlos Carrasco (7-3, 3.21 ERA) vs. Orioles RH Kevin Gausman (3-6, 6.60)

Carrasco improved to 5-1 over his last eight starts by limiting Minnesota to one run and four hits over 6 1/3 innings. Carrasco also boosted his road record to 5-1 with a 2.89 ERA in seven starts, allowing two homers in 43 2/3 innings and holding the opposition to a .190 batting average. Carrasco has made four career appearances (three starts) versus the Orioles, going 1-2 with a 3.79 ERA.

Gausman continues to give up hits in alarming numbers (107 in 75 innings) and his WHIP of 1.92 is easily the worst in the major leagues. The 26-year-old has allowed at least eight hits in seven consecutive starts, including last time out when he was tagged for five runs in 5 2/3 innings versus St. Louis. Gausman is 2-1 with a 1.72 ERA against Cleveland and has held Encarnacion to 1-for-15.

WALK-OFFS

1. Orioles CF Adam Jones, who had the go-ahead RBI double Tuesday, has hit safely in four straight games and eight of nine.

2. Indians LF Austin Jackson is 6-for-13 with a homer and five RBIs during a four-game hitting streak.

3. Orioles closer Zach Britton felt "great" in throwing an inning at Class A Aberdeen on Tuesday.

GAME: Los Angeles Angels (37-37) at New York Yankees (38-30)
DATE/TIME: Wednesday, June 21 - 7:05 PM EST
WHERE: Yankee Stadium, Bronx, New York
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

The New York Yankees are suffering through their longest losing streak in 10 years and have tumbled out of first place in the American League East for the first time in a month. The Bronx Bombers will try to stop the bleeding Wednesday night when they continue a three-game series against the visiting Los Angeles Angels.

The Angels gave the Yankees the first two of their seven straight losses when the teams met in California last week and then opened this set with an 8-3 triumph, outhitting the hosts by a 14-4 margin. The slide is the longest for New York since an identical one in 2007 and the franchise has not lost eight in a row since 1995. Leadoff hitter Cameron Maybin homered and had three hits for the Angels in the opener, part of an 11-for-24 showing for the top five hitters in the lineup. Looking to slow them down - and help the Yankees end the losing streak - will be lefty Jordan Montgomery, who opposes veteran Ricky Nolasco on Wednesday.

TV: 7:05 p.m. ET, MLB Network, FSN West (Los Angeles), YES (New York)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Angels RH Ricky Nolasco (2-8, 5.01 ERA) vs. Yankees LH Jordan Montgomery (4-4, 3.78)

Nolasco has suffered the loss in each of his last six starts, the latest of which saw him allow five runs and 10 hits in six innings against Kansas City. He has a 4.07 ERA on the road - compared to 6.08 at home - and was impressive in his only prior career start at the Yankee Stadium, yielding a run in six frames. The 34-year-old, who enters with a 110-111 career record, has been hit hard by several Yankees, including Didi Gregorius (11-for-22), Matt Holliday (12-for-26, two home runs), Chase Headley (9-for-21, home run) and Starlin Castro (8-for-23).

Montgomery had an ERA of 1.50 over a four-start span before giving up four runs and seven hits in 5 2/3 innings of work at Oakland his last time out. The 24-year-old rookie surrendered a season-high two home runs - as well as two doubles and a triple - in that contest, as the Yankees lost for the fifth time in the last seven games Montgomery has started. The University of South Carolina product is 2-1 with a 3.82 ERA and 39 strikeouts in 35 1/3 innings at home.

WALK-OFFS

1. The Angels on Tuesday placed RHP Bud Norris (knee) on the 10-day disabled list and recalled RHP Mike Morin from Triple-A Salt Lake City.

2. Yankees CF Jacoby Ellsbury (concussion) is scheduled to take batting practice Wednesday.

3. New York RF Aaron Judge slugged his MLB-leading 24th homer Tuesday and has six long balls in the past 10 games.

GAME: San Francisco Giants (27-46) at Atlanta Braves (32-38)
DATE/TIME: Wednesday, June 21 - 7:35 PM EST
WHERE: SunTrust Park, Cumberland, Georgia
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

Johan Camargo is not considered among the bevy of Atlanta Braves top prospects, but the infielder is making a positive impact at the major-league level as the Braves host the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday. Camargo collected three hits in Tuesday’s 6-3 loss - his fourth consecutive multi-hit game to raise his average to .354 - and extended his hitting streak to five games, but the Giants took advantage of three Atlanta errors in the eighth inning to snap a seven-game losing streak.

Giants catcher Buster Posey entered the series leading the majors in batting average, but is 0-for-7 through two games to drop to .341. San Francisco outfielder Austin Slater hit a three-run homer after the Atlanta errors in the eighth, giving him nine RBIs in his past nine games. The Braves wasted a solid start from Julio Teheran to end a three-game winning streak, but still are far ahead of last year’s pace at 32-38 after going 24-46 through 70 games in 2016. Atlanta center fielder Ender Inciarte is batting .359 since May 14.

TV: 7:35 p.m. ET, NBCSN Bay Area (San Francisco), FSN Southeast (Atlanta)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Giants RH Jeff Samardzija (2-9, 4.81 ERA) vs. Braves LH Sean Newcomb (0-2, 2.19)

Samardzija has pitched better since starting his season with five losses in his first seven starts, but has received little support in most of his outings since mid-May. He allowed three earned runs or fewer in his next six starts but went 2-3 in that span with a 2.97 ERA before being hammered for eight runs on 11 hits in six innings Friday at Colorado. The 32-year-old, who leads the National League with an 8:1 strikeouts-to-walks ratio, is 3-2 in 12 lifetime appearances against Atlanta.

Newcomb makes his third career start and, while he is winless, the 24-year-old has impressed with two strong outings. He fell to the Miami Marlins Friday after allowing three runs on five hits in six innings, six days after holding the New York Mets to one unearned run on four hits over 6 1/3 innings with seven strikeouts in his major-league debut. Newcomb has allowed two extra-base hits through his first two starts while throwing 68 percent of his pitches for strikes.

WALK-OFFS

1. Atlanta scratched RHP Bartolo Colon from Wednesday’s scheduled return from the disabled list after the major’s oldest player developed back stiffness during a Monday bullpen session.

2. The Giants recalled RHP Kyle Crick from Triple-A Sacramento before the game, demoting RHP Derek Law.

3. San Francisco INF Eduardo Nunez, who did not play Tuesday, has the majors’ longest active streak of consecutive games reaching base (30).

GAME: Toronto Blue Jays (34-36) at Texas Rangers (35-35)
DATE/TIME: Wednesday, June 21 - 8:05 PM EST
WHERE: Globe Life Park in Arlington, Arlington, Texas
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

Adrian Beltre has driven in five runs in the first two games of the series and looks to remain productive when the Texas Rangers host the Toronto Blue Jays on Wednesday. The veteran third baseman registered just two hits as Texas split the opening two contests of the four-game set, but one of them was a solo homer in Tuesday's 6-1 victory.

Beltre's blast was the 447th of his career and moved him into a tie with Detroit's Miguel Cabrera (1,585) for 35th place on the all-time RBI list. Carlos Gomez and Nomar Mazara also went deep in Tuesday's triumph, which was the eighth in 11 games for the Rangers. Toronto failed to reach the .500 mark for the eighth time this season and fell back into sole possession of last place in the American League East. "We've got a good team," Blue Jays utilityman Steve Pearce told reporters after the loss. "We'll get over the hump. It's just a matter of time."

TV: 8:05 p.m. ET, Sportsnet One, TVA (Toronto), FSN Southwest (Texas)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Blue Jays RH Joe Biagini (1-6, 4.26 ERA) vs. Rangers RH Tyson Ross (1-0, 3.18)

Biagini is 0-5 over his last six starts as he fills the rotation spot of the injured Aaron Sanchez. The 27-year-old Biagini was torched for seven runs - six earned - and eight hits in one-plus innings against the Chicago White Sox in his last turn. He lost to the Rangers on May 28, when he allowed two runs and seven hits over six frames.

Ross won his Texas debut on Friday, when he allowed two runs and two hits in 5 2/3 innings versus Seattle. The 30-year-old is trying to regain the 13-victory form he displayed with San Diego in 2014 after pitching just once last season due to shoulder issues and then having thoracic outlet syndrome surgery in the offseason. Ross' lone career start against Toronto came in 2012, when he gave up three runs and five hits over 5 2/3 frames of a loss while with Oakland.

WALK-OFFS

1. Blue Jays CF Kevin Pillar is hitless in 10 at-bats in the series and 3-for-32 over his last seven games.

2. Texas LF Delino DeShields recorded his eighth stolen base of the month on Tuesday to rank third in the AL with 16.

3. Toronto DH Kendrys Morales registered two hits on Tuesday and is 10-for-26 with three homers and eight RBIs during his six-game hitting streak.

GAME: Chicago White Sox (31-38) at Minnesota Twins (35-33)
DATE/TIME: Wednesday, June 21 - 8:10 PM EST
WHERE: Target Field, Minneapolis, Minnesota
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

The Minnesota Twins own the worst home record in the majors and endured a four-game mugging at home by Cleveland over the weekend, so it was huge to halt their skid on a night when their ace pitcher labored. The Twins look to win back-to-back home games for the first time in over a month when they host the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday.

Kennys Vargas and Miguel Sano each recorded a homer and three RBIs in Tuesday's 9-7 victory as Minnesota improved to 15-24 at Target Field. While the offense picked up a struggling Ervin Santana, the Twins will come back with the younger Jose Berrios, who has registered quality starts in five of his seven turns since being promoted from the minors and has yielded two runs or fewer on five occasions. He'll be tested by the red-hot Jose Abreu, who homered as part of a four-hit effort as he extended his hitting streak to eight games and has notched at least one RBI in six in a row. Teammate Avisail Garcia ended a 10-game home run drought, going 3-for-4 to boost his batting average to an American League-best .339.

TV: 8:10 p.m. ET, CSN Chicago, FSN North (Minnesota)

PITCHING MATCHUP: White Sox LH David Holmberg (1-0, 2.63 ERA) vs. Twins RH José Berríos (6-1, 2.74)

Holmberg will be making his fifth start since being shifted from the bullpen to the rotation and has made it through five innings only once. He gave up one run and four hits over 4 1/3 frames in a no-decision versus Baltimore last time out and won at Cleveland with five innings of two-run ball in his previous turn. He gave up one hit in two frames versus the Twins on May 9.

Berrios pitched a season-high eight innings in a win over Seattle last time out, allowing two runs and five hits to win his third start in a row. The 23-year-old Puerto Rican has yet to yield more than six hits in a start and has surrendered four home runs, with three coming in his only loss of the season. While the Twins have struggled at home, Berrios is 2-1 with a 2.61 ERA at Target Field.

WALK-OFFS

1. Abreu is the first player in White Sox history to swat his first 12 homers of a season away from home.

2. Twins LHP Hector Santiago and RHP Phil Hughes will begin rehab assignments at Triple-A Rochester on Wednesday.

3. Chicago DH Matt Davidson has recorded six homers and 10 RBIs over his last eight games.

GAME: Pittsburgh Pirates (33-38) at Milwaukee Brewers (38-35)
DATE/TIME: Wednesday, June 21 - 8:10 PM EST
WHERE: Miller Park, Milwaukee, Wisconsin
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

The red-hot Andrew McCutchen is torturing Milwaukee pitchers and looks for his third straight strong performance in the series when the Pittsburgh Pirates visit the Brewers on Wednesday. McCutchen homered and drove in three runs for the second consecutive night as Pittsburgh rolled to a 7-3 victory on Tuesday - its eighth triumph in the last nine meetings with the Brewers.

McCutchen, who has hit 30 career homers against Milwaukee, has gone 5-for-8 in the series to continue a strong month in which he is batting .406 with six blasts and 19 RBIs in 64 at-bats. The 30-year-old has gone deep five times in his last seven games and recorded nine multi-hit efforts this month while increasing his batting average 45 points to .268. Milwaukee has scored just six runs over its last three contests and needs to win the next two in order to gain a series split. Eric Thames has struck out seven times in nine hitless at-bats in the series and is 0-for-12 during the Brewers' sudden offensive funk.

TV: 8:10 p.m. ET, ROOT Pittsburgh, FSN Wisconsin (Milwaukee)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Pirates RH Trevor Williams (3-3, 5.16 ERA) vs. Brewers RH Junior Guerra (1-1, 2.84)

Williams has gone two starts without receiving a decision, allowing eight runs in nine innings during the stretch. The rocky outings followed a stellar one against the New York Mets in which he gave up one run and seven hits over seven frames of an 11-1 victory on June 4. The 25-year-old Williams, who has made one career relief appearance against Milwaukee, is 3-2 with a 4.94 ERA in seven road games (four starts) this season.

Guerra is winless in his last three starts and has walked 11 batters over 17 innings during the stretch. The 32-year-old did not factor in the decision against San Diego in his last turn, when he allowed four runs - three earned - on two hits (both homers) and four walks over six frames. Guerra is 1-0 with a 1.42 ERA in four career appearances (three starts) against the Pirates.

WALK-OFFS

1. Brewers INF Eric Sogard is 13-for-32 with four walks during his eight-game hitting streak.

2. Pittsburgh C Francisco Cervelli was scratched from Tuesday's lineup due to flu-like symptoms.

3. Milwaukee reportedly signed RHP Tom Wilhelmsen, who was released by Arizona on Monday, to a minor-league contract and he will join Triple-A Colorado Springs later this week.

GAME: Arizona Diamondbacks (44-27) at Colorado Rockies (47-26)
DATE/TIME: Wednesday, June 21 - 8:40 PM EST
WHERE: Coors Field, Denver, Colorado
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

Nolan Arenado hit for the cycle over the weekend to cap off a dramatic comeback victory against one National League West rival and, at his current pace, he may be able to complete another cycle just on game-winning hits alone by the end of the week. The two-time All-Star looks to continue his torrid June on Wednesday when the host Rockies play the middle contest of their three-game set with the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Arenado became the fifth player in major-league history to complete a cycle by hitting a game-ending home run Sunday with a three-run blast in the ninth inning against San Francisco and added to his late-inning resume with a go-ahead two-run triple in the eighth in Tuesday's 4-3 series-opening victory over Arizona. The 26-year-old third baseman went 2-for-4 in the triumph and is batting .500 with 11 RBIs during his five-game hitting streak in a month in which he is batting .368 with 23 RBIs. “(Arenado is) doing Kobe Bryant stuff; he’s on a different level right now," teammate Carlos Gonzalez told the Denver Post. Arizona, which could have pulled even with Colorado in the division with a victory in the opener, saw its season-high seven-game winning streak snapped but will try to return the favor Wednesday as the Rockies own the majors' longest active winning streak at six games.

Walker returned to the rotation last Wednesday with a win after spending over a month on the disabled list, holding Detroit to one run on six hits while striking out six over five innings. The 24-year-old Louisiana native has been at his best away from Arizona this year, going 3-2 with a 2.30 ERA in six turns (as opposed to 2-1, 4.56 in four home outings). Ian Desmond (4-for-11, home run) has fared well against Walker, who took the loss at Colorado on May 7 after yielding three runs (one earned) in 5 2/3 frames.

Hoffman failed to win his fifth straight start Thursday, but he continued to hold the opposition in check despite his shakiest outing of the season, settling for a no-decision despite allowing seven hits and three walks across five innings. The East Carolina product has permitted exactly one run in each of his last four turns, although his last outing marked the first time he fanned fewer than seven since becoming a starter. Hoffman was tagged for seven runs (four earned) over 4 2/3 innings in his only start versus the Diamondbacks last September.

WALK-OFFS

1. The Rockies are a MLB-best 14-4 in June, 45-0 when leading after seven innings and 36-6 when they score first.

2. Diamondbacks 1B Paul Goldschmidt is batting .397 with five home runs and 19 RBIs this month and has reached base safely in 59 of his last 61 games against Colorado.

3. Colorado RF Carlos Gonzalez homered Tuesday for only the second time since May 24 on Tuesday and is 5-for-14 over his last four games after opening June by going 4-for-37.

GAME: Houston Astros (48-24) at Oakland Athletics (31-40)
DATE/TIME: Wednesday, June 21 - 10:05 PM EST
WHERE: Oakland Coliseum, Oakland, California
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

The Houston Astros attempt to clinch their first series win since the beginning of the month when they visit the Oakland Athletics on Wednesday for the third contest of their four-game set. Houston, which has not captured a series since recording a three-game sweep at Texas from June 2-4 - a stretch that occurred during its 11-game winning streak - made it two in a row at Oakland with Tuesday's 8-4 triumph.

George Springer ignited a five-run first inning for the Astros by leading off the contest with his 21st homer of the season. The slugger has gone deep in three straight games and is 7-for-18 over his last four while Carlos Correa has hit safely in eight of nine contests after delivering a two-run single on Tuesday. Oakland has dropped two straight after beginning its eight-game homestand with a four-game sweep against the New York Yankees. Khris Davis was hitless in three of four contests following a nine-game hitting streak but has posted multi-hit performances in two of his last three games, including a 3-for-4 effort in Tuesday's loss.

TV: 10:05 p.m. ET, ROOT Southwest (Houston), NBCSN California (Oakland)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Astros RH Mike Fiers (4-2, 4.00 ERA) vs. Athletics LH Sean Manaea (6-3, 4.01)

Fiers looks to extend his unbeaten streak, which reached five starts when he limited Boston to one run and five hits in seven innings of a no-decision on Friday. The 32-year-old Floridian has recorded three wins during the stretch, allowing a total of eight earned runs over 30 frames and two or fewer in each of his last four outings. Fiers has yet to defeat Oakland in his career as he is 0-2 with a 4.32 ERA in six starts.

Manaea is riding a six-start unbeaten streak during which he won five in a row before escaping with a no-decision against the New York Yankees on Friday after yielding five runs and eight hits in six innings. The 25-year-old native of Indiana was impressive during his string of victories, allowing two earned runs or fewer in each outing while working seven frames on three occasions. Manaea has posted a 1.71 ERA in five career starts against Houston but remained with an 0-1 record after a no-decision on April 15 in which he gave up only two runs - one earned - but issued five walks over five hitless innings.

WALK-OFFS

1. Astros 2B Jose Altuve went 1-for-4 on Tuesday and is five hits behind Bill Doran (1,139) for ninth place on the franchise list.

2. Oakland OF Matt Joyce did not start Tuesday due to tightness in his back.

3. Houston RHP Lance McCullers Jr. (back) is expected to be activated from the disabled list and start in Seattle on Saturday.

GAME: Detroit Tigers (32-38) at Seattle Mariners (36-37)
DATE/TIME: Wednesday, June 21 - 10:10 PM EST
WHERE: Safeco Field, Seattle, Washington
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

Kyle Seager is mired in a 13-game homerless drought, but his second career walk-off hit positioned the Seattle Mariners halfway to a four-game sweep of the visiting Detroit Tigers entering Wednesday's contest. Seager drilled the decisive double in the bottom of the 10th inning on Tuesday as the Mariners captured a 5-4 decision for their third straight win.

Seager has contributed just seven homers so far this year after hitting 20 or more in each of the past five seasons, but he ranks second on the team with 42 RBIs. Nelson Cruz also has gone 13 consecutive games without going deep but produced a two-run double to regain the American League RBI lead with 55. Detroit is sinking with four straight defeats and nine in 12 games. Justin Upton hit a solo blast for the Tigers and has recorded five homers and 20 RBIs during a strong month.

TV: 10:10 p.m. ET, FSN Detroit, ROOT Northwest (Seattle)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Tigers RH Justin Verlander (4-4, 4.50 ERA) vs. Mariners LH James Paxton (5-2, 3.23)

Verlander is winless in five starts since defeating Texas on May 20. One of his top outings of the season was a no-decision against the Mariners on April 27, when he allowed an unearned run and five hits over seven innings. Verlander is 10-8 with a 3.09 ERA in 21 career starts against Seattle and has struggled with Seager (7-for-17, two homers, three doubles).

Paxton has dropped back-to-back outings after winning his first five decisions. He allowed 11 runs and 15 hits over just 7 2/3 innings in the consecutive poor starts after posting a 1.69 ERA through his first eight turns. Paxton struck out nine and gave up four hits in seven scoreless frames to defeat Detroit on April 26 and is 2-1 with a 2.81 ERA in four career starts against the Tigers.

WALK-OFFS

1. Mariners OF Ben Gamel went 3-for-5 with a homer on Tuesday and is batting .460 with 13 runs scored in 50 at-bats during his 12-game hitting streak.

2. Detroit 1B Miguel Cabrera is 0-for-8 in the series and hitless in 10 at-bats over his last three games.

3. Seattle SS Jean Segura (ankle) is expected to return to the team for Thursday's series finale.

GAME: New York Mets (31-39) at Los Angeles Dodgers (46-26)
DATE/TIME: Wednesday, June 21 - 10:10 PM EST
WHERE: Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles, California
LINE: N/A TOTAL: N/A

At this point, it’s almost news when the Los Angeles Dodgers don’t hit at least four home runs in a single game. The red-hot Dodgers have won five straight games and 11 of their last 12 heading into Wednesday’s matchup against the visiting New York Mets, who have allowed a total of nine homers and been outscored 22-6 in the first two contests of the four-game series.

One day after Dodgers rookie Cody Bellinger recorded his fifth multi-homer performance in a 10-6 victory, Corey Seager followed with the second three-homer effort of his career in Tuesday’s 12-0 rout. Bellinger went 3-for-4 with his National League-best 22nd home run and four RBIs in Tuesday’s win as Los Angeles moved a season-high 20 games over .500 and remained one-half game behind first-place Colorado in the NL West. While the Dodgers are powering forward, the Mets have lost five of their last six and fallen a season high-tying eight games below .500. New York could use a strong start from Tyler Pill on Wednesday after Zack Wheeler and Robert Gsellman opened the series with back-to-back early exits.

TV: 10:10 p.m. ET, ESPN, SNY (New York), SportsNet LA (Los Angeles)

PITCHING MATCHUP: Mets RH Tyler Pill (0-2, 3.75 ERA) vs. Dodgers LH Rich Hill (3-3, 5.14)

Pill will be recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas to make a spot start in place of Matt Harvey before the Mets go back to a five-man rotation next week. The 27-year-old Pill last pitched for the Mets in relief on June 10 at Atlanta, working one scoreless inning. He earned a return to the majors after allowing two runs over seven frames in Thursday’s start for Las Vegas, where he’s gone 4-1 with a 2.04 ERA in eight turns this season.

Hill turned in his worst performance of the season on Thursday, allowing seven runs over four innings in a 12-5 loss to Cleveland. The 37-year-old was 12-5 with a 2.12 ERA last season but hasn't lasted longer than five innings in any of his eight starts this year. Hill has gone 3-1 with a 2.83 ERA in six starts at Dodger Stadium this season but owns an 0-2 record and 13.50 ERA in four career games (two starts) against the Mets.

WALK-OFFS

1. The Dodgers are 36-14 in their last 50 games, their best 50-game stretch since 2013.

2. Mets SS Asdrubal Cabrera (thumb) began a rehab assignment Tuesday with Single-A St. Lucie and could return to the team Friday in San Francisco.

3. Dodgers 3B Justin Turner went 0-for-4 on Tuesday, ending his 14-game hitting streak.
