KEY STAT: Arsenal have scored in six of their last seven games against Bayern

EXPERT VERDICT: Arsenal stunned the Bundesliga champions in the reverse fixture at the Emirates but Bayern Munich can gain swift revenge. Bayern had enough chances to have won on matchday three despite losing 2-0 and should make more of their opportunities this time around, although Arsenal do pose a counter-attacking threat.

RECOMMENDATION: Bayern to win 2-1

KEY STAT: Dynamo Kiev have never won on 12 trips to England

EXPERT VERDICT: The pressure on Chelsea is immense following their terrible start to the season which showed no sign of ending with the 3-1 home defeat to Liverpool on Saturday. However, Dynamo Kiev don’t tend to travel particularly well in Europe and Chelsea were clearly superior in the reverse fixture which finished 0-0 in Ukraine.

RECOMMENDATION: Chelsea

KEY STAT: Celtic are without a clean sheet in their last five European matches

EXPERT VERDICT: Home advantage is usually worth plenty to Celtic at Parkhead but Molde have been fantastic in this season’s Europa League and can at least find the net in Glasgow. Molde have notched in eight of their nine European matches this term and will be dangerous opponents having already won at Fenerbahce in the group.

RECOMMENDATION: Both teams to score

KEY STAT: Liverpool have drawn all three Europa League matches this season

EXPERT VERDICT: The Europa League is probably bottom of Liverpool’s priorities this season and Jurgen Klopp is likely to select a weaker starting 11 than the team which beat Chelsea 3-1 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. The long trip isn’t ideal either and the Reds could be heading for a fourth straight European stalemate.

RECOMMENDATION: Draw

KEY STAT: Anderlecht have not won in their last 12 away European matches

EXPERT VERDICT: Mauricio Pochettino’s team selection will be interesting seeing as Tottenham face Arsenal on Sunday. However, Anderlecht are not great travellers so Spurs should be able to take revenge for the 2-1 defeat in Belgium on matchday three but if there is any complacency it could allow the visitors to notch.

RECOMMENDATION: Tottenham to win 2-1

KEY STAT: Hertha’s four defeats this season have come against teams in the top five

EXPERT VERDICT: Hannover are a poor side despite losing only one of their last five matches and a fifth home defeat of the season could be on the cards against Hertha. The sixth-placed Berlin boys have not lost a match to a team currently below them in the Bundesliga and are worthy of support against the 14th-placed hosts.

RECOMMENDATION: Hertha Berlin

Preview: Jets (7-4) at Maple Leafs (2-7)

Date: November 04, 2015 7:00 PM EDT

Though hardly a polished product, the Toronto Maple Leafs can take comfort in knowing they're capable of showing some resiliency.

Fresh off their initial home victory, the Maple Leafs look to win back-to-back games for the first time Wednesday night against the visiting Winnipeg Jets.

James Reimer yielded a soft goal 58 seconds after his team opened the scoring and Toronto (2-7-2) had a score taken off the board on a coach's challenge later in the first period, but the hosts never broke down Monday. Instead, the Maple Leafs scored the only two goals of the second and Reimer made 43 saves in a 4-1 victory over Dallas.

"That's really been the story ... just not getting those favorable bounces or hitting posts or getting goals disallowed," forward Nazem Kadri said. "We were able to battle a little bit of adversity."

The Maple Leafs weren't expected to have an easy start in coach Mike Babcock's first season, but they showed their mettle while snapping an 0-5-1 slide. Toronto scored twice on five power-play chances after coming in 2 for 27 with the man advantage.

"For us it's a process," veteran forward Brad Boyes said. "We've got to learn how to play with a lead properly. Get the next one, but not get too eager out there."

Joffrey Lupul scored two of his team-leading five goals and added an assist as the Maple Leafs broke out after totaling one goal in the previous two contests.

"Lupes, he's been working really hard this year ... He's been doing a lot of good things," Reimer said. "I think that's a case where when you do the right things long enough, eventually you get some results."

After helping Toronto yield its fewest goals of the season, Reimer will make a second consecutive start in place of banged-up Jonathan Bernier.

"I feel like I've been playing well this season, not getting a couple bounces," said Reimer, who is 2-1-1 with a 2.98 goals-against average as a starter. "(On Monday), I got a couple bounces, a couple posts and a couple that managed to hit me when I was sprawling."

A Manitoba native, Reimer is 0-3-0 with a 5.19 GAA in his last four starts against Winnipeg.

The Jets (7-4-1), who have earned five points in their last three games at Toronto, look to rebound after falling 5-1 at Montreal on Sunday. Averaging 29.6 shots entering that contest, Winnipeg was held to a season-low 19. Goaltender Michael Hutchinson was pulled for giving up four goals on nine shots.

"I can't tell you if (the Canadiens) were really good because we were really bad or vice versa," said coach Paul Maurice, whose team has yet to suffer consecutive losses in regulation. "We just didn't have any jump, and that's it.

"We've got to be a (heck) of a lot better in Toronto."

Maurice could go back to starter Ondrej Pavelec, who has won his last four starts against the Maple Leafs.

Teammate Blake Wheeler was held without a point for the second time this season Sunday. He had five goals and four assists during a five-game point streak against Toronto that ended with a 4-3 overtime road loss Feb. 21.

Preview: Blues (8-3) at Blackhawks (7-5)

Date: November 04, 2015 8:00 PM EDT

The Chicago Blackhawks have been much better at home than on the road. That's something the St. Louis Blues are all too familiar with.

The Blackhawks look to extend their home winning streak to seven games Wednesday night when these Central Division rivals meet for the first time this season.

Chicago (7-5-0) followed the raising of its latest Stanley Cup banner by losing 3-2 to the New York Rangers on Oct. 7. The Blackhawks haven't lost at the United Center since, outscoring opponents 17-6 during seven straight victories.

Their current streak includes a 9-3 scoring edge after the second period, including three unanswered goals in Monday's 4-2 win over Los Angeles.

"Going into the third down a goal, I think that's a big confidence boost for us, knowing we can come back, we can score goals," said Patrick Kane, who had one goal and one assist in the final 20 minutes. "We've been struggling to score 5-on-5 and we had three.

"That's a big step in the right direction. Hopefully it gives us some confidence."

Hosting St. Louis (8-3-1) should give the Blackhawks plenty of confidence. They're 14-1-2 in their last 17 matchups in Chicago, including playoffs. However, the most recent matchup there resulted in a 2-1 loss April 5.

Kane, who missed that meeting with a broken clavicle, has 29 points in 24 overall home meetings with the Blues, including six in the last three. He's collected 12 of his 16 points this season at home, recording at least one in each of the seven games.

Kane has four goals and six assists during a seven-game overall point streak.

St. Louis is opening a four-game road trip after concluding a 3-1-1 homestand with a 3-0 loss to the Kings on Tuesday.

The power play again was an issue for the Blues, who went scoreless on four opportunities and have come up empty on 21 attempts over the past six games. That unit is operating at a 9.5 success rate (4 for 42) to rank 29th in the league.

Reversing that trend will be difficult since the Blackhawks have killed off 16 of 17 opposing power plays at home.

"I've been here for 10 years and it's no secret; it's shots, traffic, rebounds and dirty goals," captain David Backes said. "I just think we're looking a little too pretty, and we gotta get back to hammering the puck, finding some rebounds, taking the goalie's eyes away."

Backes had a power-play goal at Chicago on April 5, but he has three goals and one assist in his last 11 games there. He's also off to a slow start to this season with two goals and two assists.

Vladimir Tarasenko leads the team with six goals, but he's only scored once on 24 shots and is a minus-4 in the past five games. He returned Tuesday after sitting out Saturday's win over Minnesota with a lower-body injury.

Brian Elliott is expected to start in net after Jake Allen made 31 saves Tuesday. Elliott is 4-0-1 with a 2.18 goals-against average this season, and 1-3-1 with a 2.54 GAA in five career starts at Chicago.

He won't have to deal with Marian Hossa, who is out for a second straight game with a lower-body injury.

Preview: Penguins (7-4) at Canucks (5-2)

Date: November 04, 2015 10:00 PM EDT

Looking back at a season-opening three-game losing streak, Pittsburgh Penguins coach Mike Johnston can understand why a team that seemed primed for an offensive onslaught this season struggled.

New players were getting used to a new environment and mainstays were acclimating to new teammates. Heading into Wednesday night's visit to Vancouver, there's no longer a need to provide reasons for failure.

The Penguins (7-4-0) have won seven of eight since with a shot at their first five-game winning streak since a seven-game run from exactly this time last year, though the Canucks (6-2-4) also seem to be turning things around.

Pittsburgh remained hot with Friday's 4-0 win in Toronto, its largest margin of victory this season and second straight game with four goals after failing to hit that point through nine games.

Newcomers Matt Cullen and Eric Fehr each scored their first with the Penguins and added an assist, and Patric Hornqvist scored in a second straight game after going without a goal through nine games.

"We had quite a few new players in the group. Every line was changed and every defense pair was different from the way we ended the season last year," Johnston told the team's official website. "I think the chemistry of the group is starting to come right now. ... Guys know their roles and know how they need to contribute. Our depth is really good in a lot of areas."

Marc-Andre Fleury wasn't bad on the season-opening skid as the team scored three goals, but he's been better since with two shutouts, a 1.29 goals-against average and .955 save percentage over a 6-1-0 span. He's also won four straight against Vancouver, though he's allowed 10 goals in the last three.

Special teams have also trended in the right direction with the penalty kill going 23 of 24 in the last eight games, while the power play is beginning to come around with a 2 for 4 mark in the last two after starting 2 for 31. Still, Fleury isn't making any bold statements.

"It was one of our better games in the past weeks," Fleury said after making 21 saves against Toronto. "From start to finish, our penalty kill, our power play looked good. I felt like our four lines contributed, did well. I felt pretty confident in (Friday's) game."

Vancouver has also displayed an impressive penalty kill, thwarting 90.6 percent of power plays for the season. The Canucks are 9 for 9 over a 3-0-1 span, which has coincided with their best offense of the season. After Monday's 4-1 home win over Philadelphia, they've averaged four goals over the span after reaching that level once through eight games.

Jake Virtanen scored his first NHL goal the day after the club announced he and fellow 19-year-old rookie Jared McCann would remain with the club beyond the nine-game mark, triggering the first year of their entry-level contracts.

McCann leads the team with five goals in 10 games, and coach Willie Desjardins thinks the feeling of no longer needing to audition could help.

"If I were those guys, I think I would feel a little bit more relaxed, but at the same time, in this league every shift there's pressure," Desjardins said. "If you have a bad shift, we're in trouble."

The Canucks won both meetings last season with an 8-0 scoring advantage after shutting out Pittsburgh once in their previous 108 all-time meetings. Ryan Miller earned the shutout in the game in Vancouver, but the 3.15 GAA he has in 26 games against Pittsburgh is his fourth highest.

At home, Miller started the season 0-2-3 with a 2.96 GAA, but he's since beaten Montreal and the Flyers with two goals allowed on 54 shots.

Brandon Sutter, traded from Pittsburgh to Vancouver in a three-player deal in July, has three goals and four assists so far with his new team, while Nick Bonino has two goals and an assist for the Penguins.

Preview: Panthers (5-4) at Ducks (2-7)

Date: November 04, 2015 10:30 PM EDT

Considering the Anaheim Ducks' miserable start, their latest victory won't mean much if they don't follow up with a similar effort.

The Ducks can do so by winning two in a row for the first time Wednesday night against the visiting Florida Panthers.

Chris Stewart had a goal and two assists and Frederik Andersen made 40 saves as Anaheim (2-7-2) scored three times in the first period of a 4-2 victory over Nashville on Sunday. The Ducks, who matched their highest goal total of the season, scored 10 in the first 10 games but have recorded three in the first period twice in the last three contests.

"That's how we have to play," said Stewart, who posted his first points in 10 games this season. "We were on our toes. We dictated (the play). We came out in waves. The whole team fed off it."

While that formula worked, making it happen consistently has been the challenge. The Ducks, whose 14 goals are by far the fewest in the league, beat Minnesota 4-1 on Oct. 18, then were outscored 15-5 while losing the next five.

"It's OK as long as we don't think that's the be-all and end-all," coach Bruce Boudreau said of Sunday's win. "We have to build on it. We have to put things together."

Anaheim will try for a third consecutive victory at home, where it's scored eight goals in the last two games after recording one in the first three. The Ducks should have even more incentive after they suffered a pair of 6-2 losses to the Panthers last season.

"It's not going to be easy," Boudreau said. "Florida beat us pretty good last year."

The Panthers (5-4-2) recorded 59 shots in their last two games, but went 1 for 9 on the power play and managed one goal each time while dropping both to Boston and Washington.

"We played two good teams," coach Gerard Gallant told the NHL's official website. "When you're getting chances, that's a good sign. If we weren't getting chances, then I'd be frustrated."

A lower-body injury kept leading scorer Jaromir Jagr out of both contests, but he is expected to play Wednesday.

"We would love to have him back," Gallant said. "We miss him when he's not there. We want to make sure he's ready and I think he is. He's a big part of our team and it showed. If it was a long-term injury we wouldn't put him in. But he thinks it is fine."

Jagr, with six goals and four assists, last faced the Ducks in December 2013 with New Jersey.

Teammate Nick Bjugstad has three points in the last two road games. He had two goals and two assists at Anaheim on Nov. 16.

Andersen, who has a 2.05 goals-against average and earned his first win in eight starts Sunday, has yielded seven goals in two games against the Panthers.

Playing a big role in Anaheim's offensive woes are the struggles of Corey Perry, who after totaling 76 goals the past two seasons has none through the first 11 games. He was held without a point against the Panthers last season.

Ryan Getzlaf has one point in eight games, and it's uncertain if he'll be ready Wednesday after missing the last three with a case of appendicitis that required surgery.

Preview: Spurs (3-1) at Wizards (2-1)

Date: November 04, 2015 7:00 PM EDT

Faces have changed - some a bit more wrinkled - as the aging core of the San Antonio Spurs meshes with a wave of emerging talent trying to sustain their winning tradition.

So far, so good - even if they aren't close to the cohesive unit they'd like to be.

San Antonio looks to extend its winning streak to four while beating the host Washington Wizards for the 18th time in 19 meetings Wednesday night.

Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili have helped the Spurs (3-1) win four championships since Ginobili's rookie year in 2002-03 after Duncan won his first with coach Gregg Popovich in 1999.

Parker is the youngest at 33 years old, and the club's payroll is now dominated by newcomer LaMarcus Aldridge and 24-year-old budding star Kawhi Leonard. Roles have changed as well, with Leonard scoring a team-high 21.3 points per game and Aldridge manning the primary post and mid-range games Duncan perfected during his younger years.

The shift has caused some confusion, even if the Spurs continue to win. Duncan scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in 35-plus minutes of Monday's 94-84 win at New York - nearly 10 more than he played in last Wednesday's season-opening loss to Oklahoma City.

Leonard finished with 18 points and 14 boards, and Aldridge scored 19 while hitting 8 of 15 from the field.

"I'm still trying to figure that out," Duncan said when asked of his role after becoming the winningest player in Spurs history. "I'm not really sure what it is yet, but I'm trying to figure it out."

Ginobili scored seven points in 17 minutes off the bench Monday, but he wasn't even supposed to play. He convinced Popovich and the assistant coaches he should dress despite Popovich wanting to rest him once during a back-to-back set.

"We are in a moment where we are getting to know each other, we are getting the rotation down," Ginobili said. "I was a little tired of course, we played (Sunday) and I played more minutes than I expected, but I thought I could help."

The Spurs will have two days off after completing a three-game trip against the young Wizards (2-1), who ended a 17-game losing streak in the series with a 101-93 home victory in the last meeting Jan. 13.

John Wall had 25 points in that contest after shooting 38.3 percent in his first seven career games against the Spurs. He netted that same amount Saturday, but the Wizards missed their first 3-0 start in 10 seasons with a 117-110 loss to the Knicks.

Bradley Beal had 26 points for the second straight game and is shooting 10 of 20 from 3-point range. The deadline to reach a long-term deal was midnight Monday, but Beal and the Wizards mutually agreed to table contract talks until the summer, when he will become a restricted free agent.

"There's no hard feelings and I'm still just worried about winning," Beal said. "And we're gonna win. That's my main goal."

The Wizards need to play better defense if they want to do that consistently. After beating Orlando 88-87 last Wednesday, they gave up 113 points and allowed Milwaukee to shoot 51.2 percent in Friday's win before the Knicks pulled away in the fourth quarter.

"The commitment to defend is not there," coach Randy Wittman said. "I've got to change that."

Preview: Celtics (1-2) at Pacers (1-3)

Date: November 04, 2015 7:00 PM EDT

The Boston Celtics look like they've taken steps forward defensively, but their offense leaves much to be desired.

Perhaps a change of scenery will help them discover their shooting stroke Wednesday night when they hit the road for the first time against the Indiana Pacers.

Boston (1-2) is allowing 95.4 points per 100 possessions compared to 102.1 a season ago. However, after a season-opening 112-95 win against Philadelphia, it has lost 113-103 to Toronto and 95-87 to San Antonio. The Celtics shot 36.6 percent in those games, including a dismal 13-of-55 mark from 3-point range.

Isaiah Thomas has carried the offensive load with a team-high 22.3 points despite coming off the bench in all three contests, and none of his teammates are averaging more than 12.0. Reserves are a combined plus-38 while starters are minus-43.

Thomas hasn't been extremely efficient, either, shooting 39.6 percent and averaging 17.7 shots. He scored 15 against the Spurs but was 4 of 18. The starting frontcourt of Jae Crowder, David Lee and Tyler Zeller combined for just nine points on 4-of-18 shooting.

"As a group, we couldn't hit shots," said Thomas, who started 1 for 9. "Then, when we did get back into it, you've got the Spurs making shots."

Coach Brad Stevens cautioned against overreacting to these early setbacks, considering they came against teams that combined for 104 wins in 2014-15.

"We've just got to believe in ourselves and shoot the ball and we'll have better shooting nights than this," Stevens told the team's official website

The Pacers (1-3) finally won 94-82 at Detroit on Tuesday, getting 23 points off the bench from Rodney Stuckey against his former team. He is averaging 13.0 points in just 24.8 minutes a game, adding some firepower to an Indiana club that ranked 24th with 97.3 points per game a season ago.

"Rodney has shown in the past he could do that - he had a couple of 30-point games last year - and (if) we got that kind of performance from our bench every night, we'd be really good this year," coach Frank Vogel said.

Indiana's defense looked more improved, holding the Pistons to 33-for-86 (38.4 percent) shooting after its first three opponents averaged 105.0 points on 46.4 percent from the field.

"We talked about it at the last two practices," said George Hill, who had four steals. "Since I've been here, we've been one of the best defensive teams in the league, and tonight we showed why."

Paul George had 16 points and nine rebounds but struggled again with his shot, going 5 of 17 - already the third time he's shot 33.3 percent or worse from the field. His 8.0 rebounds per game would be a career high, however, and he's shooting 88.5 percent from the free-throw line. George has hit 51.6 percent of his shots in his last four meetings with Boston.

The Celtics won three of last season's four meetings after dropping all four in 2013-14.

Thomas scored a career high-tying 38 against Indiana for Sacramento on Jan. 24, 2014.

Preview: Knicks (2-2) at Cavaliers (3-1)

Date: November 04, 2015 8:00 PM EDT

As LeBron James returns home off yet another historic achievement, the Cleveland Cavaliers are dealing with one more injury.

J.R. Smith won't be available to face his former New York Knicks team Wednesday night after bruising his right knee in the same game James became the youngest player in NBA history to record 25,000 career points.

Cleveland (3-1) overcame Smith's first-quarter injury and an early 15-point deficit to post a third consecutive win Monday, beating Philadelphia 107-100 as James reached the milestone on an alley-oop dunk with 8:07 left.

It was part of a near triple-double from the four-time MVP, who broke Kobe Bryant's record by hitting the 25,000-point mark at 30 years, 307 days.

"The NBA is full of records, but that's an extremely impressive record-breaking moment for LeBron," coach David Blatt said. "To be the youngest player in the history of the game to score 25,000 points, particularly when you're every bit the passer that you are the scorer, is just a testament to his greatness. That was one of those great moments that you remember."

James finished with 22 points, 11 assists and nine rebounds to help rally Cleveland.

"It's a cool thing," he said. "I've got more work to do but it's pretty cool to see where you're able to kind of stop and look at it."

Seldom-used veteran James Jones contributed 12 points on 4-of-5 shooting from 3-point range to help offset the loss of Smith, traded to Cleveland from New York along with also-injured guard Iman Shumpert on Jan. 7. The 2013 Sixth Man of the Year will miss Wednesday's game and Friday's home rematch with the 76ers at a minimum.

The Cavaliers are already without defensive stopper Shumpert, who underwent wrist surgery in late September, and point guard Kyrie Irving, still recovering from a fractured kneecap suffered in Game 1 of last season's NBA Finals.

Smith scored 17 points on 7-of-11 shooting in his Madison Square Garden return during Cleveland's 101-83 victory over New York on Feb. 22.

James didn't fare as well against the Knicks last season, with his scoring average of 18.0 in three matchups being his worst against any team he faced more than once. He shot 38.8 percent from the field and had 16 turnovers in the season series as Cleveland went 2-1.

The Knicks (2-2) won their only trip to Quicken Loans Arena last season and are 2-0 on the road during an encouraging start to 2015-16.

New York appears to have survived an injury scare to a key player in its last outing, with rookie Kristaps Porzingis expected to play through a neck strain suffered in Monday's 94-84 loss to San Antonio.

The 20-year-old forward, one of several newcomers in the Knicks' rebuild from a franchise-worst 17-win 2014-15 campaign, posted his first career double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds before colliding with Carmelo Anthony with 2:49 remaining. Porzingis did pass concussion tests and was diagnosed with a soft tissue injury.

Anthony paced New York with 19 points but was 4 of 17 from the field and the Knicks shot a season-low 36.0 percent. They shot 47.7 percent in Saturday's 117-110 win at Washington in which Anthony scored 37 on an 11-of-18 success rate.

Preview: Nets (0-4) at Hawks (4-1)

Date: November 04, 2015 8:00 PM EDT

The last time the Atlanta Hawks met the Brooklyn Nets, they eliminated them from the first round of the playoffs.

The stakes clearly aren't that high this time, so coach Mike Budenholzer could give a starter the night off Wednesday when the Hawks go for a fifth straight win and try to continue their recent success over the winless Nets.

Atlanta (4-1) set a franchise record with 60 wins and finished with the best record in the Eastern Conference last season before ousting Brooklyn in six games to open the playoffs. The Hawks were eventually swept by Cleveland in the East finals, so a mere four-game winning streak early this season doesn't have them particularly excited.

They had six win streaks of at least four games in 2014-15. However, this team is on the cusp of giving Atlanta its best start since opening 6-0 in 2010-11.

"It's still very early in the season but we are optimistic about how we are playing," center Al Horford said after Tuesday's 98-92 win at Miami. "There is still a lot of basketball to play. We feel good about the team we have."

That's exactly why Budenholzer wants to use the Hawks' depth to rest starters in the second of games on back-to-back days, a tactic he regularly witnessed as an assistant with San Antonio under Gregg Popovich from 1996-2013. For this team, that could mean extended minutes for reserves Dennis Schroder and Tiago Splitter.

"Yeah, that is something we looked at in the preseason," Budenholzer told the team's official website. "Playing Jeff (Teague) and Dennis is something we've done in the past and plan to use in the future, and playing the three big guys together (Horford, Splitter and Paul Millsap) is something we did in the preseason and I think we plan to use it in the regular season."

Kyle Korver has already been rested for one game, and he could be a candidate again since he underwent offseason ankle surgery and is off to a rough start. He's averaging 9.3 points while going 5 for 20 from beyond the arc.

That could mean another start for Schroder, who had 14 points while starting for Korver in Friday's 97-94 win over Charlotte. The third-year guard has since totaled 10 points on 4-of-15 shooting in two games.

Korver did play a key role in the first-round series win over Brooklyn, averaging 18.8 points in Atlanta's four victories with 19 3-pointers. The Hawks have also won the last five regular-season meetings.

The Nets (0-4) are off to their worst start since setting an NBA record by going 0-18 to open 2009-10. They've been outscored by an average of 14.8 points but had a good chance to win Monday, giving up the final nine points in a 103-96 loss to previously winless Milwaukee.

"We scratched and clawed," coach Lionel Hollins said. "It was a game we could've had."

The Nets are making 24.6 percent of their 3s to rank among the worst in the league.

Joe Johnson is 3 of 12 from 3-point range and is averaging 9.3 points, only a bit better than half his career average.

Brook Lopez leads the Nets with averages of 18.3 points, and he scored 19.0 per game in the playoff series versus Atlanta.

Preview: 76ers (0-3) at Bucks (1-3)

Date: November 04, 2015 8:00 PM EDT

Jabari Parker won't be returning as part of a winless team, but he could help keep the Philadelphia 76ers that way.

Two nights after the Milwaukee Bucks picked up their first win, they'll get their prized draft pick from a season ago back Wednesday night at home against the Duke phenom and fellow Chicago product who followed him through Cameron Indoor Stadium.

Parker last played Dec. 15 in Phoenix and tore his left ACL before the No. 2 overall pick in the 2014 draft underwent season-ending surgery Jan. 5. The Bucks (1-3), who won 103-96 at Brooklyn on Monday, will also have reserve point guard Tyler Ennis back after Parker's fellow first-rounder missed the start of the season with a shoulder injury.

"We're very excited to have both Jabari and Tyler medically cleared to play for us," general manager John Hammond told the team's official website. "Both players have put in a tremendous amount of hard work during the rehabilitation process. It's a real credit to their work ethic and the talents of our world-class medical team and terrific coaching staff to have them ready to go. I know our fans are thrilled to have them back and will give them both a warm welcome on Wednesday night."

According to coach Jason Kidd, Parker will be limited to 15-20 minutes to start and may not play in back-to-back sets.

"That sounds pretty good," said Parker, who made his home debut with 11 points in a win over Philadelphia on Oct. 31, 2014. "Even 20 is a big number. I just go with what I'm given."

He averaged 12.3 points and 5.5 rebounds as a rookie and was starting to take off offensively in the seven games preceding the injury with 15.0 points and 58.9 percent shooting. The Bucks were a very different-looking team at the time, and he'll take the floor with Michael Carter-Williams for the first time.

Carter-Williams will face his former team for the third time after matching a season high with 30 points in a 107-97 win in Philadelphia on April 13. The point guard has been held to progressively fewer points and shots in each game this season, beginning with 20 points on 6 of 17 in a season-opening loss to New York and six on 2 of 3 while dealing with foul trouble against the Nets.

Jerryd Bayless scored 26, Greg Monroe had 23 and Giannis Antetokounmpo 21 on Monday. Antetokounmpo missed the opener but is averaging 22.7 points and 58.1 percent since, while Monroe has scored 20.3 in his first four games with Milwaukee.

The Bucks went 4-0 against the 76ers (0-3) last season and have won six straight meetings. The season series results were hardly surprising given that Philadelphia went 18-64 and lost its final 10.

The Sixers fell 107-100 to Cleveland at home Monday with Jahlil Okafor, picked third by Philadelphia out of Duke in this year's draft, scoring a game-high 24 points. It was the second time the rookie has led the 76ers in scoring and he's averaged 20.0 points in his first three games.

With Okafor adjusting to the NBA game, teammate Nerlens Noel now has to get used to matching up with power forwards rather than centers, so it's Noel who figures to see more of Parker and Antetokounmpo than Okafor.

"He's used to his whole life running back to the front of the rim," coach Brett Brown told the team's official website. "Now he's got to run to a hell of a perimeter 3-point shooter. And so that's his evolution if he is going to be a four-man."

No matter the personnel, the losses seem to be discouraging Brown as he tries to improve on a 37-127 record from the previous two seasons.

"It is more difficult for me to remain positive in Year Three," he said.

Preview: Magic (1-3) at Rockets (1-3)

Date: November 04, 2015 8:00 PM EDT

Houston and Orlando own identical records after four games, and while it's not a huge surprise for the Magic, it's a massive disappointment for the Rockets.

Each will try to build off its first victory of the season entering Wednesday night's matchup in Houston.

Few expected the Rockets (1-3) to start this poorly after tying for the NBA's third-best record last season, but they've mostly been guided by James Harden's play thus far - for better or worse.

They averaged 88.7 points on 37.1 percent shooting in their first three games, with opponents averaging 18.7 points off the 17.3 turnovers Houston was committing. Harden was 12 for 54 from the floor in those contests while averaging 18.0 points.

He bounced back emphatically Monday, scoring 37 on 12-of-26 shooting in a 110-105 win over Oklahoma City to hand the Thunder their first loss. His four 3-pointers were one more than he had hit in 32 attempts through the first three games, and he committed only two turnovers after averaging 4.0 coming in.

"I'm sure all great shooters go through droughts," said Harden, second in the NBA in scoring last season behind Russell Westbrook with a career-high 27.4 points per game. "Mine was pretty terrible, I admit. But it will change. It will all come around. It's a long season and I'll go on five, six, 10-game streaks where I'm just on fire and it will even itself out."

The Magic are actually ahead of schedule compared to last season when they started 0-4. They won 103-94 at New Orleans on Tuesday behind Evan Fournier's career-high 30 points. Fournier was 4 of 9 from 3-point range, hitting two in the final 1:13 to help seal the victory.

Orlando's three losses came by a combined nine points, with Friday's 139-136 double-overtime loss to Oklahoma City the second of two blown fourth-quarter leads.

"It just felt great because we lost two very close games, heartbreaking losses," said Fournier, averaging 23.7 points on 50.0 percent shooting in the last three games after going 1 of 7 for three points in the opener.

Nikola Vucevic had 22 points and 13 rebounds and has helped Orlando average 50.0 points in the paint, though the club ranks toward the bottom of the league in 3-point shooting at 31.9 percent.

Dwight Howard had 16 points and eight rebounds for Houston on Monday. He was suspended for the season opener and sat out Sunday's loss to Miami, the first night of a back-to-back. The Rockets play on consecutive nights in each of the next three weekends.

"As the season goes I think I'll be able to play those back-to-backs, but I think early in the season it's not smart to do that," Howard said. "People will say: 'Why? You're young.' But I've been in the league for 12 years and I want to be able to walk when I'm done playing basketball."

Howard has been dominant in five meetings with his former team, averaging 24.4 points and 14.8 rebounds.

Houston's Terrence Jones isn't expected to play after sitting out Monday due to a cut on his eyelid suffered in Friday's loss to Golden State.

Preview: Raptors (4-0) at Thunder (3-1)

Date: November 04, 2015 8:00 PM EDT

The Toronto Raptors are off to their first 4-0 start thanks in part to a defense that is limiting foes to an Eastern Conference-best 38.7 percent from the field.

They figure to be put to the test against the NBA's highest-scoring duo Wednesday night.

Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook are off to red-hot starts for the Oklahoma City Thunder, who look to bounce back from their first defeat and become the first club to knock off the Raptors.

Toronto (4-0) started this four-game trip with Tuesday's 102-91 victory over Dallas, holding the Mavericks to 38.4 percent shooting including a four-minute stretch in the fourth quarter in which the home team didn't register a basket.

The new-look Raptors weren't sure what to expect, but like what they are seeing so far.

"I think it was the start that we needed," said Kyle Lowry, who scored a team-high 27 points and handed out 10 assists. "Either we could have a real good start, or a tough start with pretty much 10 new guys. But I think we've done a good job of just staying focused with our principles."

Now they must contend with the Thunder, who are second in the league in points per 100 possessions (109.0), points per game (118.3) and field-goal percentage (48.4).

Westbrook is second in the league with 30.3 points per game and Durant is averaging 29.8 while showing little negative effects from the broken right foot that sidelined him for most of last season.

Durant missed both games against Toronto in 2014-15. The last time he faced the Raptors, he exploded for 51 points with a 31-foot 3-pointer with two seconds left in a 119-118 overtime win March 21, 2014.

While the Thunder have been tough to stop, they have also stopped themselves by averaging 19.4 turnovers per 100 possessions to match Philadelphia for the league's worst mark. They had a season-high 25 turnovers in their first loss, 110-105 at Houston on Monday.

"I thought our turnovers tonight, (25) is too much and we've really got to try to make some strides and get better in that area," first-year coach Billy Donovan said.

The biggest culprit has been Westbrook, averaging a career-high 5.5 turnovers after he averaged 4.4 a season ago for the league's highest mark. Last season was mostly a result of Westbrook shouldering the load with Durant out; now it's more of a concern with the superstar duo reunited.

"I just think we need to get better and we keep needing to improve," Donovan said. "I think we really need to focus and really get better in terms of playing to our identity."

Oklahoma City (3-1) leads the NBA in rebound margin at plus-14.5 while Toronto is also among the leaders in that department at plus-10.3. Enes Kanter leads the Thunder with 11.0 rebounds per game and Jonas Valanciunas tops the Raptors at 10.3.

The Raptors have won consecutive road games against the West after losing nine straight such contests. They went 11-8 in the second half of back-to-back sets last season; this is their first 2015-16 set.

"We are off to a great start, but we have to remember this is a marathon, not a sprint," coach Dwane Casey said.
