Jack Brayman
My Bonus Play is off the early card, as I like the Detroit Tigers over the Minnesota Twins, and I want you listing only Spencer Turnbull in this game.
The right-hander will be making his first career Major League start tonight, after throwing a perfect inning Friday against the division-leading Cleveland Indians at Progressive Field. Turnbull also collected his first strikeout in his big league debut.
One inning won't be enough for the Twins to scout, and they should be caught off guard by this guy's repertoire. It's been his lively arsenal and a knack for missing bats that have made him an attractive big league option.
Turnbull throws a two-seam fastball that tops out around 94 miles per hour and compliments it with a slider and a changeup. His command has improved, and his mechanics are impeccable.
Most of all, he is an intense competitor who gives a very high-effort look, and I like him to get the dub today.
