Think about this...NO TEAM in NBA HISTORY has ever come back from being down 3-1 in a series. Detroit was manhandling the Lakers and like morons we all sat back and watched it like a deer in headlights. Yes, I did take some minus 435 on Detroit when they were up 3-1. However, I should have made it my biggest bet of my life. Do you guys realize that most books don't even put up a line when the series is at 3-1? I have seen a few lines, but it is usually like 70-1. This line was 4-1!!! That was such a lock that I should be ashamed of myself. Oh well, at least I didn't bet on the Lakers in game 5. Hopefully I won't fall asleep at the wheel like this again soon.

Records are made to be broken!! Sounds like being a Monday morning Quarterback to me!! If thats the case then you should've bet them on the money line game 5,6,& 7. IF it went back to LA you would've gotten better than 4-1 Doubling up each game !

The whole part of the "down 3-1" stat that was different this time was that the favored team going into the series was the one down 3-1. Usually when a team is down 3-1 in the NBA Finals, it's the team that wasn't supposed to win the series to begin with.

So, I'm sure some people out there thought the Lakers had a +300, etc. chance of still winning the series. And if they won Game 5, I think odds-wise they would then drop to be close to +110 or something for winning the series with having home court the final two games.

it's always easier to say these things after the outcome. Everything in gambling always seems to make more sense after it is over. Like when the NYY sweep a team in the world series, don't we always say things like... how could we not have bet the NYY? They are so strong and probably one of the best teams ever put together. Are we stupid? How many times have we all said that in our lives?

Bottom line is.. things always seem clearer after the outcome now that we know what happened.

And if we would have bet the Pistons and lakers blew them out in 5, we'd all be saying, what are we crazy, how can we bet against Shaq and Kobe, 2 proven stars with winning history and playoff experience, unlike the Pistons..

NO WAY any of us could tell the Pistons would do what they did, AND the Lakers could have easily come back from a 3-1 deficit and we'd all be saying, what am i stupid? How can i go against the Lakers winning 3 in a row with shaq and kobe in the lineup and lay -435 like an idiot. ..

On the flip side of that, no home team had ever won middle three games. I bet that this would be the time. It is easy to sit here and woulda, coulda, shoulda. Better question to ask, is why didn't you? Try not to agonize over something you did not do. It is counterproductive and harmful. You missed it, next. I promise you there will be more opportunities to earn...Best Wishes...OF

Just sat on my +2.30 to win in 5. Made more misses on futures and blown hedges then ever. On my woulda, coulda, shoulda it was not buying Lakers 9-1 after down 0-2 to Spurs. And I read it aloud to my wife from Pinnacle. Brutal. Probably pissed away 30+ dimes there

Match that 9-1 to Motown 6-1, and you do very well. Never seen so many high prices late. Motown still 15-1 after game #1 loss to Indy. I picked up small 16.5-1. Not much different from reg season 18-1 I saw. But Lakers at 9-1 was key. Huge miss on my part...OF
