As an alum and a fan shoe I want him to stay for next year at least. Everyone will be back next season and I don't see how this team loses more than 2 games with the talent on both sides of the ball. We are in a rut lately but ONLY blaming Joe is short sighted. When 4 of your starters go in the first round of the NFL draft it's a little difficult to have high expectations. Are we as bad as our record? Considering how young this team was when the season started...not anymore. I think Ohio State would say the same thing after today's game.

Sportsbet, I'm a big PSU, Flyers, and mostly Phillies fan, and think that one cannnot ask it's patriarch to step aisde, even if at this juncture he is a delaying the future of the program, but seriously doubt if PSU can be a 2 loss team next year with the abundance of slow and WASPy skill position players that PSU has marched out onto the field the past 5 years.
Even as over-rated and down as the Big-10 has been the past two falls(sans OSU title team), there are Mich, OSU, Iowa, a rising Tiller and John L Smith, plus Alvarez and an occasional trip to Minny..PSU may get back to winning but I see a logjammed B-10 that will not allow for a dominant PSU that entered it a decade ago..not until it's next coach is in place.
JoePa rates over Bowden any day in my book, his kids behave, plus he has less athletes now and always did than the Fla schools.
Not that I dislike Bowden..I love his gambling freewheeling style, that 15 year streak of top 5's, and that gaudy 25-3 Bowl mark, but JoePa has titles in multiple decades/eras, and was hosed in '94 from a share of another.
Michigan and OSU have shown PSU whose conference it is more than not since PSU put down it's small seaboard school diet and joined the B-10, and that sits well with me as I'm big on whom one plays/tough schedules, yet here's hoping that PSU can get it back in gear.
