I haven't played a game in almost a week and some change and noticed that I'm watching less sports and shows like Sportscenter. I think I've almost convinced myself I will probably only watch and follow games if it's special interst games (alma mater, rivarly games) and big events games. March Madness and the NBA FInals and such. Has betting on sports ruined "fan of sports" mentality because right now I could give two shits about a Niagara vs Siena college basketball game?

um, Niagara is hosting Manhattan

Hypothetically my man but it's just my point. I haven't even looked at a line in almost a week so I don't know who Niagara is playing.

I have averaged around 900 bets a month for the past few months and for the month of January I have watched a total of maybe 5 minutes of sports and they maybe stretching it. Basketball it maybe less than 10 seconds. I love reaing the stats and following the local teams in the paper but as for the games, nothing.

Just numbers on a screen to me. I mmust admit I have watched Yahoo updates in NBA quite a bit though.

Not me bro. I was a sports fan waaayyy before I was putting some coin on it. Even if I'm not wagering, the tube is still on ESPNews for highlights.

Even though I didn't have a dime on the UVA/Dook game, I was still hoping the Wahoos would pull out the victory.

I can't get into the NBA much since I haven't been betting a lot this month.
I like watching good college hoop games though when they are on, but without betting I probably would not watch any pro sports at all.
I haven't watched sports center much either and used to have it running in the background all night while i was doing other stuff online.

I can only watch my teams (Yankees, Knicks, Jets) with simply a fan interest now.

I could care less about even the SUPERBOWL, WORLD SERIES, or NBA winner, if I don't have money on it.

I used to be able to watch these events pre-gambling.

same here. I love the NFL and MLB (Lions and Tigers) and watch every play of every game all year with extreme interest but that is it for me.

I'm pretty much the same way Ice. I'll watch NFL games and usually ones I have no money on. I love putting up the scoreboards on the internet and tracking that way but I HATE having to watch a game I got money on......(especially with nongambling friends who know I bet!):ohno:

Not always true with me, I had no wager on the Suns/Wiz game last week, but I wanted to see that shootout.

I'll tune into any baseball game, because I'm a baseball junky, and I do the high roller fantasy thing.

I'll tune into a Duke game and hope they fall on their ass 'cuz I hate them, but I hear ya 2PLAYS, I know a lot of betters that feel like you.
