Anyone heard about this? have you tried it?

they set the dice on certain numbers and try to throw it so it barely hits the back walls....

VEGAS says its perfectly legal

ive read about it, to be sure nobody is breaking the bank doing this but I think it could help you get a bit closer to zero vig in this game with that type of roll where it just deadens on the back bumper say its worth 0.1% that is close to even now in craps with 5X odds.

no...........nothing to it

imo.....a "soft-roll" or "rythmic" type of thrower seems to have better rolls than a person who just slings the dice differently each time they roll.......but the diamond shaped backing helps insure a random roll...

scoblete....is a fraud

Dante......i have read all of scoblete's and John Patricks books on craps.....in fairness there are some good hedging techniques...and the "5-count system" will save you some money on a choppy table..

but controlling the dice is pooh-pooh

5-count system

place wager on pass line and dont pass (same amount)

the count starts only when shooter establishes a point......4,5,6,8,9,10 (once he rolls a point 2,3,11, 12 count towards the 5 count system..

ie. shooter rolls 3,7,7,11,2,8............the count would start on the 8...once the shooter has rolled 5 numbers without 7 out..you place odds on your pass line bet and start your place bet or come bet wagers (come bets require a dont come wager also, same amount).....

this system is based on eliminating the "point... seven out... rolls" you see happen so often.....the theory is that a shooter that has established a point and rolled the dice 5 times without 7'ing out...has a better chance of making some numbers.....

also if your a come bettor.........ALWAYS WAGER ON THE COME AND DONT COME

this eliminates a loss when the shooter makes his point and then comes out with a 7.....

ie.. shooter's point is 9

1. $25 on come and $25 on dont come

2. shooter rolls 6.......come bets move to 6.......

3. place odds on 6 coming..

4. shooter rolls his point 9

5. same shooter coming out rolls 7

6. odds on 6 coming are returned.......

7. $25 wager on come and dont come push

8. you just saved yourself $25

so you allow 5 rolls before you go to the come/don't bet...lets say you catch a long-winded roll and cover the back line...what happens to the odds...if place...you go down...do you press the come

place bets OR come bets...........thats up to the individual (i prefer place bets)

place bets do not work on the come out....

come bets work on the come out (odds do not).....thats why you should place an equal wager on the dont come.

say the shooter gets hot.......9 is his point

you start placing come bets......eventually all numbers are covered 4,5,6,8,10
every time he rolls a number you get paid on the odds on the come bet (the original come bet/dont come cancel out)

eventually the shooter rolls his point 9.........then comes out with a 7......

your odds are returned from the 4,5,6,8,10 come bets and the original come/dont come cancel out..

pressing the bets is up to you....

"beat the crap out of craps" by frank scoblete covers the system and is a good read......

his latest book about "dice control" is so full of sh*t its unreal...i know one of the persons outline in his book........and he is nothing but a snakeoil salesman....yes, you richard..

a dealer at caesars a few years back discussed similar wager formats...he felt after three come bets with odds (point included)...then just take the don't equal to the come bet total in order to minimize the 7 out...an insurance policy if you will...he just did not wait the 5-count...
