CALTY: first being whiteys & one being having too much estrogen.

SH: I'd fit right in because I'm about 11% blend of brown and red, plus I'm at least 15% female.

I am at the Nats game now. Spare me the "huh?" if I'm on a laptop in the Lower View Outfield section. Like someone said in this thread, this stadium is quite empty. I am in Section 468 which is like the right field pole, but essentially at the upper level. The ticket for here is normally $5 bucks, but a stranger at the line of ticket box office gave us a 2-for-1 sale coupon so for 2 tickets, I had to pay a huge amount of... $5.00. I had to double-check with the lady at the ticket counter, LOL.

It is my first time inside RFK and this stadium sure shows its age.

About the game itself, Mets had already gotten a 4-0 lead before we could get settled in our seats with food & drinks. I'ts now 7-3 Mets. There are quite many fans rooting for Mets here with the Mets jerseys. It's like whenever either team have something going like a hit, there is always a cheering section. Mets doing something-- *cheering*.... Nats doing something-- *cheering*. Grins.

Okay, I take it back. Nats is on a rally, and had gotten 2 runs to make it a 7-5 game-- then a 3-run blast to take the lead, 7-8. There are definitely more Nats fans than Mets fans... but Nats fans sure had their time of their lives laughing at the Mets fans who just smiled. :)

Hey Calvin hope your having a good time.

I met Calvin in August and he's a good guy.

RFK your first time huh,as a kid i have been there to many times to count as a Senators fan it was just as agonizing then as I'm sure it is now.

Do you still have to walk by the prison to get to the park and you can see the inmates looking at you through the bars............LOL

Actually made an impression on me as a kid, call it scared strait.

All kidding aside, RFK is where I saw my first live MLB game - Aug 1969 when the Senators hosted the NY Yankees.

My main memory (at age 9) was asking my Dad why everyone was booing Joe Pepitone.

Seems he was one of few major league sports celebs who openly spoke out against the US involvement in Vietnam.

Plus he wore his hair real long and used a blow dryer, ala Joe Willie Namath

I was born in MD and lived most of my life in MD but I just never went to RFK when Redskins were here at this stadium. There is no prison in this neighborhood anymore that I know of. I think that was torn down and the "Armory" buildings was built on that spot, I'm not sure. Other DC experts would know.

is journeyman there?
I wouldn't know but nah. Due to many circumstances, Ironman & MrCleo was unable to make it & Skins returned back home and tried to let me know. I'm sure Skins will chime in this thread sooner than later.

Cheers,

Was waiting for this to POP up..............hola
:lolBIG:

But of course. It just had to be asked. :toast:

At least my gf & I am enjoying this great diversion of an evening relaxing and watching the game live.....

This section has like 75% of empty seats so I have lot of space to be using a laptop (geeky but who gives a flying caca). :)

Section 468, it is called "Lower View Outfield" but in reality, it's right field pole over the fence. Keep in mind there is a tall inner wall before being able to see this "mezzanine/upper deck" level.

If there is a fly ball to RF, the camera may quickly follow upwards to this section as I have noticed.

P.S. I don't think I want anyone to have a freebie peek of my gf. :)

We're getting ready to head out soon. It has been a good game, and I don't expect to see anything exciting when Mets come to bat in top of 9th next (it's now bottom of 8th), Nats leading 9-7.

Cheers,

We used the metro so the jam we experienced was a sidewalk jam (nah....) but the metro cars were 15 minutes between stops so you can imagine how an empty metro cars became a full packed sardine within a minute.

I see that Mets did score a run in top of 9th, but no matter if they had tied the game up, we had to go anyway as we had babysitting arrangements to meet.

Oh, GameBreaker, in short, nobody else was able to show up. Skins was all ready to go to the game, but when Ironman & MrCleo finally let him know they had to back out, Skins felt that he'd just turn around & let me know about the unexpected change of plans. It was no biggie as my gf & I wanted to be there at the game.
