Nothing more than a couple of Russian players, a rushing Canadian defenseman and a useless black goon.
That's basically it in a nutshell, nothing more and nothing less!
You see last year the Caps used their young Russian star (Ovechkin), you know the same one who's trying to show everyone that he's actually old enough to grow whiskers, to pull off a couple of NHL postseason upsets before bowing out to a much better team in the Philadelphia Flyers. The difference of course being that the Flyers didn't and don't put all their marbles in one bag to ride the victory train, as was the case in game seven when they sent the Captals packing right in their own barn.
Now listen up carefully because I actually marvel at the stupiduty of this particular move game in and game out!!!
Any NHL team in this modern day and age who carries a body, in the likes of Donald Brashear, for the simple purpose of fistcuffs is totally both ludicrous and hilarious. Watching this pathetic jerk trying to skate up and down the ice looking for an opponent to square off with has to be the most idiotic jesture ever displayed by an NHL team.
This turkey couldn't outskate a six-year-old for crying out loud.
Bruce Boudreau, who was as big a chicken as there was when he played junior hockey on Toronto, must love the fact that he can actually summon this goon Brashear when he wants to start a fight, something he never could do or was able to do himself when he played the game.
The bottom line is quite simply that the Washington Capitals are nothing more than a regular season team, a club that plays its' postseason hockey from October to the beginning of April.
They'll no doubt fold in round one or two of the playoffs as always, providing they even qualify.
Finally lets also keep in mind that the Capitals, complete with its's couple of Russians, its's rushing d-man, it's black goon whose only job is to occupy space on the team bench and finally its' coach who resembles a 'beached-walrus', sits in the weakest division of the entire NHL.
It is for that and only for that reason alone that we are forced to watch them for one round, maybe two, of the postseason each year.
You heard it and now you got it!!!

agree, alot of people want this "team" to be something it's not. I wonder why all the love for Vancouver? without Lou they aren't worth a shit and thats with Mats.

i guess i took the bait, other than the somewhat racist comments i agree. i just don't think they are that good. i feel that the top teams would smear the caps, just my thoughts though.

What a fucking idiot. Must have laid the juice with the Caps tonight. :ohno:

Prior to tonight's loss the Caps had won 7 games in a row and 12 out of 13. What a terrible team.

I just stopped by to say that the title of this blog is horrible. Washington owns at home, but just happen to lose to an awesome rookie goalie, Mason. Washington had 40 shots on goal and every one was stopped. Mason has like 4 or 5 shutouts in the past 2-3 weeks.

Correct, Mason is the only reason that the Caps lost this game. Pure and simple.

The Caps are a good team and they showed they can play physical when they went against the Flyers.

Last year the Caps played the Red Wings mid-season at Detroit. The game went to a shootout and the Wings won. Afterwards Mike Babcock said the Caps were the best team the Wings had played the entire season. He didn't have to say anything. He just said what he felt.
I wonder who knows more about hockey, Mike Babcock or Ivan?

hey Ivan I noticed thatthe caps are playing Mtl tonigtht and mtl needed a couple of days off to get ready so they might win.Correct if I am wrong but lasttime caps played mtl they thought so little of mtl that they brought up a rookie goalie from Hershey on his day off and caps won 3-1? I guessMtl dosent have any goons yeah right. The only reason mtl was so great in the old days was the fact that they used to get an extra draft pick of a french caadian player each year. bet you didnt know that did you? otherwise theywould have been toast. I notice your here about 3 monthsand have 1100 posts get a life turkey.I wAS AT CAPS game last night they just had a bad night just kept missing by inchs also iwas at most of the other 18 they won at hme.Last I noticed they were 5-6 points ahead of mtl. regards heart222

Entering tonight, Washington was 7-6 versus teams ranked in Top10 (at time of game...Sagarin rankings) and 11-9 vs teams in top half of league

Only SanJose, Boston, Detroit and surprisingly Columbus (at 10-8) have W/L margins of more than two games vs Top10

And only SJ, Det and Bos have a better win percentage vs Top16

As for Trolling Bait threads, they're fairly easy to ignore if you perceive the creator is being unduly provocative.

I myself had not opened an "Ivan"-authored Topic in probably a month, so I'm unaware of any negative history.

Sour grapes. :ohno:

Why people would lay that high of a number on the Caps who have been struggling as of late is beyond me. They have been way overpriced lately.

I look for them to get back in rhythm tomorrow at Pitt and then home to Boston on Saturday.

Back in rhythm at home tomorrow night against Pitt umm I doubt it will be that easy. They have major issues in goal and even if they do get their act together I can tell you this. Theodore and Johnson are getting them nowhere when it matters in April seriously. They can take their automatic 3rd seed from the softest division in the East but thats about it.

Theodore had been one of the hottest goalies in the league prior to tonight's game where he was hung out to dry by the defense time and time again.
