My only play right now... but contemplating on how good their offense is. Anyone think they can do it?

You couldn't pay me to touch the Skins here. They are coming off 2 huge rivalry wins & now face a Rams team coming off a bye with a new coach they don't hate. They might just pull a shocker & win the game S/U.

Or they might look like KC in Carolina today, lol. Now that it's down to -13.5, it's getting into the range of playable for WAS. I'm going to wait and see if it hits -13 at least. I just don't see how STL is going to score in this one. WAS held PHI to 10 offensive points in Philly. With the direction this WAS team is going it's going to be a pretty amped crowd in DC and I'm sure the 'Skins will want to please the home crowd. A bye is worth a point, I reckon, but that point sure didn't help Detroit today, lol.

Lol... this Skins team is HOT and under the radar. Now I said it this year already that EVERY team worth a shit should be able to score about 30 on the RAMS. If it's -14 or better--i think i'm taking it.

I agree Crunch, STL on the road can't be a pleasant prospect. And the way STL's oline is playing, WAS can take advantage of that, and Bulger could be on the run all night. Steven Jackson may keep this one close, but STL's "D" has to be a breath of fresh air for WAS's "O" after facing DAL & PHI. I think the main thing has got to be Zorn and his staff. This team is playing championship football, and it's not due to one player. I don't think Zorn allows team to look past STL.

Washington always had solid defense but this year, QB has played much better and taking care of the football. Plus they run the hell out of the ball and like to dominate TOP. This could be a 28-7 or 28-10 type of game. Don't see Jackson having a monster game nor Bulger as Rams O-line has been horrible this year.

Take the Rams

Do they really want to play for real with the Rams. It's a look ahead game for the skins. They just got out of the woods with 2 road games in their division. Now they can relax with the Rams. Can you ask that much from a Rams team coming off a bye? No, but you can ask them to hang on to the skins for dear life....:monsters-

Washington is good, but I have a feeling they will play to the level of their competition. I don't think they will be blowing teams out very often.

I don't know krk. STL consistently plays 3 levels below the level of their competition. Seattle beat the crap out of STL and that was Seattle's only win this season. If this were a road game maybe it would be a different story, but this is a home game for WAS -- the first since beating DAL and PHI on the road, so I think they're going to be pumped to lay a whooping on the Rams for the home crowd. I don't handicap emotion, it only plays into my lines near the end of the regular season, but I think it would be dangerous to discount the Redskins' efforts this week.

perhaps one of our stats guys can put some real #'s around this system?

fairly certain there is a huge system to take a winless team of 0-4 or worse after their bye week...

if I can find it I will post but w365, green valley, or thegame may have this handy?

exactly. there's no way washington is 2 scores better than anyone. skins are a solid football team. but theyre not a team id want to lay that kind of chalk with. big time role reversal for them.

Since 1991, teams with zero wins off of a bye in the 6th week or more (i.e. 0-4 w/ a bye week 5 or worse) are 18-3-1 ATS and 13-9 SU. If underdogs, they are 17-2-1 ATS, covering an average +6.5 line by over 9 points, and actually winning 12 out of the 20 games. Since 2002, 3-1-1, which includes St. Louis in Week 10 last season as 10.5 point dogs on the road @ the Saints. St. Louis won SU 37-29.

If road dogs, these winless teams are 9-0 ATS (covering by an avg of 11) and 7-2 SU.

KRK has a point though... SEA beat up WAS--but they knew they had too... they weren't gonna beat anyone else all season.

WASH, however, has the ability to hang with the best... but with the rams--they might just do enough to get biz. I think ZORN actually gets a 10 pt lead and runs it out. I don't think he'll feel the need to run up the score, he doesn't seem like that kind of guy at this point. He's a SEA coach native >:) I think he's got respect for the rams.

No way does WAS shut it down with a 10 point lead! I'm seeing 21-0 at the half, 31-7 final score, lol. WAS' run game is strong enough to score points even if the Rams load up against it. Unless STL gets a special teams or defensive score, I don't think they cover.

Actually, you do have a point about WASH's run game. How bad is STL run defense? Cuz I think Portis and co are gonna wanna have a breakout game... no better time then here.

Nobody is higher on this Skins team on this board then me. I've been saying they're probably the only team that could challenge Dallas for the NFC, BUT I would never lay 15 points with them to anybody. There are teams that I think are worse than Washington that I WOULD lay the two TD's with, but not these guys. I just don't see their offense as good enough to warrant laying that many points. They are a solid football team that will give every single team a run for their money, but I just can't lay the number here.

With that said I probably can't play St Louis either because they are one of the worst teams I've ever seen. To cover this game they will have to give their best effort of the season because the closest game so far was a 17 point home loss to the Bills, who are also a team I wouldn't ever lay DD's with.

Huge skins fan here. I am not sure I would lay that much wood with them, but I also don't think they will neccesarily be looking beyond St. Louis this week. I heard that Zorn was going to give them today off and the team decided they wanted to keep their routine and momentum and the OPTED as team to practice today. Sounds like they are dialed-in and focused, but we'll see.

Go SKINS!
