I am getting on this one early. Yes ASU is off a bad loss @ Colorado and now back at home in a night game @ Sun Devil Stadium but QB Falk for Wash State is going to slice this ASU defense up in a bad way. ASU with the worst pass defense in the country will struggle big time with this matchup. Overall Wash State on both sides of the ball is playing good football.

I don't like the fact that they let UCLA hang around with a backup QB on their home but I expect them to come into Sun Devil stadium and play a complete game and put up 45 points. This Wash State team can run the ball and play defense which is unlike past Wash State teams. The weather will be perfect unlike what it was against UCLA.

I have not been able to post as much this season but I do like this one a lot. Of course anything can happen in these games nothing is a guarantee. I just like the matchup here. ASU will be fired up after a rough loss back at home but Wash State should win this game by at least two touchdowns.

Thanks for the tip from the desert PP. Sun Devils seem to play much better @ home, which had me worried. I think this game goes over in a 56-42 type game. Riding with ya on WSU.

I actually think there is a slight bit of line value here bc of the poor weather conditions for good portions of that Washington state vs ucla game. If the weather would've been perfect, Washington state would've won by a lot. ASU's defense in shambles. Luke Falk and the cougs offense is every bit as good as any offense ASU has seen yet this year, and that's scary. Washington state can play a little defense, and I think that's what will ultimately separate these two. Washington state 55 ASU 45

A year ago, several Pac-12 schools accused Arizona State of stealing signs, and Mike Leach called for an investigation. But Todd Graham admitted it and defended it.
Washington State travels to Arizona State this Saturday, and the topic came up again at Leach’s press conference. As Leach always does, he didn’t mince words, even saying ASU has a “command center.”
“Well, I think they still steal signs. We’ll have to keep an eye on that,” he said. “That’s certainly the reputation, and I think they have technology an expertise on the subject, which if they ever go to a different conference or something, I’d certainly like them to share it with us. Yeah, you’ve got to keep an eye on them. They’ll steal signs, and they’re pretty clever about it. It’s like breaking the Enigma Code with them. I think they ought to do a full-on investigation to see how they’re doing it and make sure it’s within the rules.”
Last year, Oregon used huge white sheets on the sideline at Sun Devil Stadium to cover them up. Leach wasn’t sure if Wazzu would do something similar.
"We’ll have to see. That is a very unsavory practice they have, so we'll have to do what we can to defend ourselves against it,” Leach said. “They’ll try to victimize you with some sign-stealing, there’s no question. You have to cover them up. Otherwise, they know all your signs and they’ll bounce around.”
There’s nothing illegal about watching another team’s signs, even with binoculars. Graham said last year that other teams take ASU’s signs, too, but also said he knows it’s illegal to record audio or video. Jim Mora and Kyle Whittingham said it’s just part of the game. Graham said someone who had a problem should pick up the phone and call him.
But Leach said he’s heard “rumors” of recording at Sun Devil Stadium. He wouldn’t say ASU actually does it, but said there are teams that have recorded signs.
“I’ve heard a lot of rumors of microphones to pick up extra sound, perhaps what the quarterback’s saying, close-up cameras, stuff like that,” Leach said. “I don’t know if they shoot coaches on the sideline. Some teams will. This is totally illegal, and I’m not saying they do or they don’t. My thoughts, I’ll keep to myself, and you can imagine what they may be. Some guys, they’ll film the guy they think is signaling on the sideline, so the next time they play, they can hopefully sort out what they think they see.”
When a reporter noted to Leach that Graham said many teams watch signs, Leach replied, “Not like them where they have a whole command center designed around this stuff. I think either everybody ought to or nobody ought to.”

How does Coach Graham not go for the TD to tie with his horrible Defense? Tough way to lose for us. At least over came in. Keep the desert tips coming PP.

I have no clue as to why he did that! Makes no sense at all. Unless Graham is not good at math which could be the case they were down 8 which is a one score game. So you go down 5 and it is still a one score game. You are at the 20-yard line with four minutes left. Defense is not good... and you kick a field goal?? The game went as I thought it would. I did not think ASU would go up 14-3 but I did think it would be close in the first half and then Wash State would wear them down with their solid offense and pull away. That is why gambling is gambling.... So much weird stuff happens during a game... ASU is a fraud and go against team the rest of the season. I am looking forward to that ugly game between ASU/AZ ! Should be a doozy....

I was shocked at this decision -- there was just under 4 minutes to go and ASU only had one TO left -- and, as you mention, the defense was not showing much ability to get a quick stop. Of course, Wazzu did their part snapping the ball with 10+ seconds on the play clock a couple of times.

Had a lot of Wassu -6 too......ughh

This clown made a decision like that in bowl game last year. He's an arrogant idiot living on borrowed time at ASU.

Looks like Todd Graham had a few choice words for Mike Leach after the ball game. Might want to circle this one for next season, I sense some bitterness:

I think it started before the game last week because Leach called out Graham for stealing signs, which has been something him and gus malzahn were accused of back in the day at Tulsa.
