I've watched it over and over. I don't think it was intentional. It was definitely a non-basketball play but not dirty IMO.
If you notice he makes no attempt for the ball only to get Love's arm to where he can not use it to get to the ball. When he does have Loves arm in control he does not just hold it but he locks it under his armpit then proceeds to thrust his upper body down and forward.. so if I lock arms with you and apply force and pull on it, i do it knowing that I am going to hurt you. Hand/arm fighting is one thing but when I immobilize your arm it is a different story..
Malicious? Only he knows.. just as in life there are two sides to anything. Personally don't think he did it on purpose with intent to hurt him. Shit happens in the heat of battle but I understand how some will think it was malicious.
I did not think much of the Perkins issue as far as being malicious ( if its the screen I saw ) he definitely put a little ass in to it and it was a foul. But what and the hell was going through the mind of Smith? That tells me a lot about the type of guy he is.. if he swings that to the body it is one thing, he went right to the head area.. piece of shit and should get multiple game suspension
