No news at all, they basically fell off the face of the earth.

And I thought about something else I used to do, maybe I could get back into that but on a larger scale.

Flipping cars...... Buying cheap, fixing them up and selling them quick.
so an auto repair shop?

Haha no... like flipping houses.

As a hobby I would hit the salvage yards, or street corners, looking for cheap (yet easy to fix and popular cars) and buy them for pennies on the dollar. Throw some money into them and fix them up myself, and flip it. Depending on what shape it was in before I bought it, It could take a week or quite a bit more to get it into top $$$ shape.

About the only thing I cant do myself is huge body work (I can do small dents and dings, scratches etc...) that's where I would have to go for outside labor.

I learned to stay away from Mercedes during this lol.. bout two, and between the costs of fixing them up, I ended up losing money both times.

Toyotas, Hondas, and American sportscars are where you can flip them easily for some decent $$$

little money in it that way... My uncle has worked in junkyards his whole life... He now has his own business, and does well. basically all through ebay... he's about knowing what sells, and taking the parts. definitely something you could learn, but imagine there is a learning curve. He spends ridiculous amount of time doing this, and I know gas (driving place to place) is a big expense.

making money isn't supposed to be easy
gotta think outside the box given your demands of low investment yet good returns lol basically every ideal business opportunity, no?

most importantly, find something you actually like doing
your own interest will determine how successful you are

it seems like you're just looking for quick cash

if you have money to invest in a business, say 300k-500k. go buy a few or several 100k houses. theyre paid for and people are always looking for 3 bed 2 bath houses to live in. rent them for 1k/month and be done with it. i own two different types of businesses currently (a boat/rv storage and a gym/fitness center). neither are money makers like the real estate investment. esp if your properties are paid for! and keep in mind that when all is said and done, you still own the houses! sell them in ten yrs and move to hawaii.

Buying a home for $100k (either via cash or via financing) and renting it out for $1,000 a month is a really thin margin. I don't think you could justify it. After insuring it, paying property taxes, repairs, some vacancies/evictions, etc..., you're gonna be lucky to make any real money on that. The return is too small and the spread too thin.

true based on the figs i gave of 100k or whatever. you would def need to find a range taht works best for you depending on where you live. for ex i can buy a 50-60k house in my area and rent it for 800-900 all day (3br/2bath). if you can do something like this, you can make pretty good money. i dont know what props rent for in lv or boston or wherever and that would def need to be taken into account.

Yeah LV is one of those places it is hard to get a gauge on the area by looking just at listings, have to do a little more research. With construction being new, even the bad areas look pretty nice in photos/listings.

Another problem is a lot of them are in masterplanned communities so you get killed on HOA fees. Like you said though, people always gonna need a place to live...just my 2 cents

absolutely, definitely do your research before jumping in to anything

I would try a Jersey Mike's Sub franchise. They seem to be successful wherever they are.

If I were you and where you are I think I actually would start a tout service. Zero over head. Do it on the square though.

I am so against being a tout. All those guys are lying scum and do nothing but rip people off. I do not, in any way, shape or form, want to be associated with any of that.

Take the VI scammers over there. They are all supposed to be "professionals" and such. Yet this year AND last year, I blew their records out of the water... yet they continue to spout and advertise how they are the best and greatest in all of sports handicapping. And that's just 1 site for example... we could talk about Langs, Budin, etc, as well.

A lot of people have mentioned real estate. I will take it one step further and make it easier for someone with little $. Don't buy the property! Go to a big city. Rent out a 3 or 4 bedroom apartment and live in one of them. List the other bedrooms on Airbnb. It will take a little while to figure out how to do it easily, but big money can be made. Just need a bunk bed in each room, bare bones, nothing to break. People want to rent a place that has a kitchen rather than a tiny hotel room. Just has to cost same or less than a hotel. Get some good reviews, then rent another apartment. Now you have 5-7 rooms to rent. Keep going as much as you feel you can handle.

It might work in vegas, but there are billions of hotel rooms and people like to be in casinos. Not sure the dynamics there. But trust me, it works great in cities.

I know. I feel the same way. Most people feel the same way. There's your need for someone that does it ethically. Look at the models used my the few that do it ethically. RAS for example. You obviously have a talent for handicapping. I'm sure you enjoy doing it. Your market is sitting right here reading your posts. To me the answer is sitting right under your nose.....literally.

Don't join the scum. Be the guy that does it right. People will flock to it. Hey and if they don't, who gives a rip? You lose nothing.
