CRONKITE: KARL ROVE BEHIND BIN LADEN TAPE?
Sat Oct 30 2004 16:31:19 ET

Former CBSNEWS anchorman Walter Cronkite believes Bush adviser Karl Rove is possibly behind the new Bin Laden tape.

Cronkite made the startling comments late Friday during an interview on CNN.

Somewhat smiling, Cronkite said he is "inclined to think that Karl Rove, the political manager at the White House, who is a very clever man, he probably set up bin Laden to this thing."

Interviewer Larry King did not ask Cronkite to elaborate on the provocative election eve observation.

At least Cronkite was a closet liberal. He fooled all of daddies friends for years and thus daddies ol' democratic party was a mainstay in American politics for years. Tells you something about today democrats when Michael Moore can fool them.

Joint:

With Rove running Bush's campaign, you have the ultimate "get dirty and whatever it takes" guy on board ...

and THE NUMBER ONE reason why the Kerry camp has attorneys ready to rock / roll ...

Do your homework on Rove ... he runs it as dirty as it gets

Just remember Bush is polling in the mid 40s in the battleground states which will proove fatal for him. He is not facing a broke Al Gore this time but a well finaced aggresive John Kerry. The day in and day out onslaught of bad news is sinking in to any undecideds still out there. The OBL tape will make little if any differance in any state - battleground or not. Kerry is perfectly positioned to win all the rust belt states (save Indiana) essentially locking up the election with them in his pocket. Ironically Florida may not even be a factor however Kerry will also win Florida. Just compare the Gore effort to the massive Kerry effort in Florida - remember Florida was a tie in 2000, there is no chance of that happening again. The question of the direction of the country is headed sees undecided voters polling 2 to 1 in favor for change. It all adds up to a big Kerry win on Tuesday. These righties around here (The Rx.) can go on all they want about Paris in 1972 or flip flop this or that etc. bottom line a close look at the numbers tells the astute observer that Bush CANNOT win as it stands right now.

Just to see Hannity and Coulter after a Kerry win is worth casting a vote for Kerry ....
Do the people that criticize reporters like Walter Cronkite and others as being 'liberally-biased' ever stop to think that maybe their slant on the world(and make no mistake EVERYBODY has a slant) is formed because in reporting on so many wars and other world and national events they might just know a lot of what goes on in this world and be worth listening to?
I am very opinionated but I defer a little to some one who has actually more experience in a field than I have. To say every opinion is worth the same is ludicrous. I'm free to have an opinion on how to do Tommy John surgery but I wouldn't value it as much as Dr. Andrews!

I respect Cronkite ... I see his type and then I see Hannity in action and nite / day ... one is very smart on many topics and the other is an embarrassment to his profession

Experience counts for something, I guess, but because O.J. Simpson was married longer than myself I don't think I'll be getting any marriage counseling from him, if you don't mind. If Conkrite has the evidence, lets see it... otherwise his comments are simply...unfruitful.
