If it is true that a significant number of women will switch from Dems to Reps just because the Reps have a female VP-candidate then this is a nice example.
At any rate it never ceases to amaze me how actual political issues don't seem to mean anything in American political campaigns. I wouldn't describe the average German as highly intelligent but here everyone at least acts like an election is about political issues, and very few would, for example, care (or even want to know) if the husband of a potential vice-chancellor candidate had been ticketed for DUI twenty years ago or such things.
