Poor guy is just a field filler. NASCAR fans showed their approval of Bush at Daytona booing his Jet as it flew over the track. I think it was Daytona.

I'm not convinced that the supposed NASCAR fans are into politics and voting that much. Only about 55% of the eligible population is even registered to vote. Of them, only 80% bother to show up at the polls (only 44% of the eligible population). I suspect that the NASCAR fans are more representative of the 56% that don't vote.
So, I really think the whole NASCAR thing is overblown. The NASCAR fans might prefer Bush, but they are probably less likely to vote or even follow politics.

I've heard that it's beautiful out that way. I'm just a quick swim away from Ontario. I was all set to apply for immigration 2 years ago when the points needed were at 72. Just my luck -- they raised it to 75 the month I was getting ready to apply, so my 74 points didn't seem so cool anymore .. lol.

I still wouldn't mind going, but the immigration process sucks when you have a family.

I have reasons for wanting to go that most people will never understand, so I'll leave most of the details at that and just take the ignorant redneck claims of "being anti-American" like a big boy. But, I will say -- when you government refuses to let a grandmother (an no, not a criminal) visit her grandson then you lose alot of faith in the a$$holes that run the country. And it further pisses you off when local congressmen can't be bothered to respond to your letters.

It's not an isolated case -- I had a good friend that had the same problems. His family would have to get a Canadian visa and they would reunite for a few weeks each year in Toronto.

Now, you tell which country is the "land of the free" and the "home of opportunity."

Thanks Lander thats nice to hear that you think so highly of Canada....I definetly appreciate being Canadian but wish our immigration policies were a bit different among a few other minor problems....I work in Aviation and our goverment is not currently on my good side for a few insane things they have done in the last few years but on the whole its great to be a Canadian......AMerica just needs a good leader who really cares about the good of the Country and needs to stop listening to morons like Michael Moore...I hate that guy...

You need to go get in their face if you want something done Lander. My roommate in college was from the Phillipines and the only time he got help regarding immigration was when he camped out in their office. The lackeys in the office are incapable of saying 'no' when face to face; with letters it is damn near automatic.

Shutgun, you may very well be right. "Our guy" is retiring, so hopefully the new guy will use what little influence he has to actually help out.
