Did you have him tonight Gator? I did and I was glad none of the tout or betting public did tonight. No matter how bad the Reds are they have a shot w/ this guy. Just have to pick your spots when you bet on him. Though betting on him every start wouldn't be a bad idea.

I didnt....I came home from a movie (Kung Fu Panda, funny movie)
and saw that he won, though.

I have watched most of his starts and he is on my fantasy squad. I just think his stuff is electric. His changeup is probably the best in the league.

I have decided to try and play 1...maybe 2 games a night. I had Minnesota and Cleveland tonight. It makes it hard to back Volquez because you just dont know what you will get with the Reds on the road. I back him everytime he pitches at home, though.

FWIW, I'm not really liking my Cleveland pick anymore.

I'm not liking his mechanics (Volquez). Will that motion keep his arm in for the long haul?

Any pitcher that is going to give up less the 3 runs through 7 innings
gives any team a chance and at Volquez w/ a + sign is automatic
I tend to stay away from runlines or lines over -150. I stayed away from
him against the BOSOX because everyone and their brother was on him and Halladay that day and gave me a weird feeling. Felt very comfortable taking him at +135 even if I lost.

#1 in MLB with a 1.71 ERA. Lincecum is #2 with a 2.21 ERA.

#3 in Component ERA behind Marcum and Haren.

#2 in DIPS with 2.94 behind only Lee's 2.75.

#1 in K/9 with 10.42. #2 is Billingsley with 9.75

Yup, pretty ridiculous to say he is the Best in MLB.....:drink:

pitchers with a min. of 80 innings.

I'll give a slight edge to Brandon Webb over Volquez.

Galarraga from the Tigers gets an honorable mention. Lowest OBA in baseball.

You can't just look at this season though, that's just stupid. Everyone was claiming Webb was the top pitcher earlier in the season and I said that was stupid too. I wouldn't classify Marcum as a top 5 pitcher either and he has probably been the best or second best pitcher this year. This is my top 5..

1. Halladay
2. Peavy
3. Santana
4. Zambrano
5. Hamels

Honorable mentions go to Hudson, Beckett, Lackey, Hernandez, Webb, Haren, and Kazmir. I would actually not even say Volquez or Webb are the best pitchers on their own team. If it's game 7 of the World Series I would take Haren or Harang over the other starters for their team.

Volquez does have a nasty changeup though, and I'm glad I have him on my fantasy team.

"Doc", Jake, Hamels, Z, are NOT what they were LY, will they return to form? Probably but this is NOW! I`ll take Kaz, Lincecum, Lee, Becket, Santana (LAA). That`s just for now tho. Webb will come back, so will "Doc" IMO. Dark horse: Lester.
