Bad shit & it's spreading QUICKLY

This is the virus which is crashing the "RPC service" on a lot of peoples machines.

Go to www.windowsupdate.com & install all critical updates to protect yourself. Updating your virus scanner's dat file NOW wouldn't be a bad idea either.

I think its not a virus,but a security hole.
Using XP's firewall will eliminate the problem.

Wil, It's virus that's accessing peoples computers through a Windows security hole. You need to patch the hole if you are using a version of Windows that requires the patch. (Microsoft Windows NT® 4.0
Microsoft Windows 2000
Microsoft Windows XP
Microsoft Windows Server™ 2003)

If microsofts servers are swamped with people downloading the file, try typing the file name in google search to find an alternate source.

If you have the virus already, stay tuned to your virus protection site for updates. This is brand new.

Minnow is correct about the "restart from you left off" point.

One of the things that was incorporated into this virus was that every infected machine unknowingly takes part in a denial of service attack against windowsupdate.com.

Definitely a FU Microsoft shot & there will be many many more from where this came from-this is only the beginning.

Get yourself a personal firewall & a virus scanner or deal with the consequences.
