Publicly traded:

Sportingbet group (Sportsbook, linesmaker, sportingbet, sportingbetusa, etc - go to SBR if you want all 50) - they have not decided yet.

Leisure and gaming - VIP, 5cardcharlie, bet19, Nine, etc - go to SBR for list of like 10

WWTS - Unlikely to fold (Already indicted)

Canbet - No comment so far as far as I can tell.

Neteller - No decision yet.

BOS

Betus - I am not sure about these guys. I have heard they are public and I have also heard they are private. I think they are private.

Many of the poker places, but I am not up on poker.

Private:

All the rest.

The only A or A+ books that were public are VIP and WWTS.

very well said MR J but personally im not funding or gambling or betting anything for a few weeks after the bill gets signed ..I want to see what the true fallout is

Well on the contrary I am going about business as usual with the following exceptions.

#1. I have reduced my normal bankroll by 50%

#2. I am making no further deposits.

#3. I have reduced my number of outs by 50%. To the four I feel are the strongest, privately owned and historically the safest and trustworthy.

I respect your opinion Dante. But you are a very careful and conservative
bettor. And make no mistake, that is not a knock on you at all. We all need to react in a manner that individually makes us feel safest.
But to not bet at all is simply letting the terrorists win and exactly what they want you to do without putting up any fight whatsoever. Not a time for the white flags to come out. Simple as that.
Period.

So should we quit playing there, now ?

Withdraw funds ?

Personal opinion....... would withdraw immediately from there if your a USA citizen........no reason to be there if not catering to USA players.

If I could say just one more thing. IM, very strong, O stay away for Calvin and others who are showing up with .nets in print and broadcast mediums. Stick with the big boys who are keeping there yaps shut, their coffers full and their advertising to a minimum.

Don Quixote's, at this time, are nothing but ego driven fools.

Who indicted WWTS and for what? And why does this make them less likely to cave in and fold? Appreciate the help here a sI have an account there and would like to keep a prescence there along with CRIS and Pinny and The Greek. Have sort of classified(maybe wrongly) WWTS as a similar strong book but maybe in error.

Mr Jones,

I don't get the "BIG BOOKS" reference.
Should Pinny, Cris, WSEX, and The Greek pull the plug then I'll worry. My logic tells me those four in particular should thrive in the current climate.

Your right about the larger privately owned companies thriving if publicly traded books cease US operations. What I meant about the "BIG BOOKS" are the public companies who have had millions upon millions to advertise with thanks in part to going public and finding investment capital and aquiring so many squares and recreational players. A lot of these recreational players are hooked now and they will need to get their action in regardless of the fact that it may be illegal and there will be "Lions waiting to take advantage of the weak so again I will say FRIST has actually "Hurt Americans" rather than helped "Protect Americans"........

I don't believe everything a sportsbook rep. tells me but I did talk to customer service at Nine and they certainly don't sound as though they are going to close out US accounts. I have been told twice that Nine does not see the pending legislation as a threat and that they will continue operations with US customers.

They Are Not Ceasing Us Customer Operations

Word is, and this was apparently confirmed by SBR and another poster here (see other thread) that they are now operating privately and will continue to take US customers. See the other thread and SBR

"IT" meaning what? Running from the US market? Staying with the US market?

Staying Public?

I expect most public companys to spin off/sell their US facing arm.

I expect the same for Neteller - there may be a time period in the middle where we are in limbo, but no way billion dollar companies wont have buyers...

Cris, Pinnacle, WSEX would all love to own Neteller or the US side. Profitable and would save them a bundle on fees.

The running aspect. They will be taking US customers very soon. Might not be with a current name that they have already, but they will be taking them again soon.

Sean1 hit the nail on the head....... Most if not all publicly traded sportsbooks will end up selling off their US facing clients to private owners with lots of bankroll. The question I have is will ONLINE WAGERING still be available or will we all have to wager over the phone through 1-800 #'s?
