Sorry for not posting this past weekend, took a vacation and didnt have time to do any research.
Season Record: 2-3-1 (-$50)
All bets are $50 (1u), and mainly played on Bovada...if i use 5 dimes i will make a note of that. If there is a line that is not available on the websites i base the decision on the conensus from vegas insider.
I finally had some time to look into the upcoming games and do a little research on them, below you will find my week 3 plays with a simple write up. I have had the best results in all sports with getting back to the basics, and not trying to be so analytical. I have used, created systems that have had some success, but most of the time i jus t consider the following criteria for betting, especially college football: 1. Coaching 2. Location 3. Previous Game Results (also in the manner they won or lost) 4. Biggest Weakness of either team 5.) Teams attitude about the game, etc.. All things that everyday folks can think about. I hope you all give your input, and enjoy the week!
Miami Hurricanes -4.5 @ Appalachian State: The notorious victory at Michigan has put the ball team from Boone, NC on the map and always has people second guessing when they play, what people believe to be a much better opponent. Their season opener against Tennessee has proved their ability to compete against quality teams, but also showed that they will have trouble scoring the football against a good defense, which Miami has proven to have in the first two games. Some may notice that they have played two below average programs, in Florida A&M and FAU. They put up 70 points in their first game which is impressive no matter who you play, and held their opponents to a combined 13 points over 8 quarters. They have the better coach, and will not treat this game lightly. I think the awareness level of the team will be very good, and they are ready to go into a tough environment and win big. They have a bye week coming up, and will be able to rest their players before Georgia Tech on october 1st. I see this game being close in the first quarter, and Miami taking over the rest of the way.
Utah St -9 vs. Arkansas State: This one was based heavily upon the fact that Utah State just played @ USC. They got beat handily, which is no suprise after the butt whipping Alabama put on them in week 1. I value a turnaround game a whole lot, i mean a whole lot. Ark st will be on the road for the second week in a row after a bad loss at Auburn, and will have hard time focusing before they finally come home on the 24th. The location advantage goes to Ut st and i believe they will take care of business at home on saturday.
VT -6.5 vs Boston College: The hokies just played the most attended game in the history of college football, and couldnt finish the deal. They will be able to correct their mistakes, strengthen their weaknesses against BC who struggled to beat Massachussets last week on the road. The fans are hungry for a victory at home for tech this week, and the coaching advantage goes the hokies. I think that boston college has alot more work to do before they come into Lane stadium and beat VT.
Alabama -10 @ Ole Miss: See nick sabans post game interview after last week. This team will be beyond prepared for ole miss or anybody for that matter, the tide beat wku by 28 and played terrible in my opinion, they did not play Saban style football, that will change this week
South Carolina - 4.5 vs ECU: After 2 straight road games the game camecock come home to play. The struggles have been apparent for them and i think muschamp will work out the kinks this week at practice. ECU is flying high after a nice win against NC state, and may be too confident going into a tough environment.
Texas A&M +4 @ Auburn: Although the aggies are playing on the road, they are simply the better team here, and they are ready for a challenge against a worthy opponent. Both teams will prepare well, but A&M will control the football and wear the tiger defense out.
That is it for now, goodluck this week.
