Nobody else was arrested except McDaniel(6'7 300), who broke 4 bones in Goodrich's(6'4 205) face, who now has a metal plate in his face as well. He pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor and was put on probation by the University, some of which was retroactive b/c the summer classes he took will not count towards his academic eligibility. He was suspended for the first 2 games of the season.
The reaction from the other basketball players was appalling, did you see the guy dribble the basketball over the guy's head? Damn.
McDaniel should have been suspended for the year in my opinion or kicked off the team. He has never been in trouble and is supposed to be a good kid, but the video shows otherwise. He apparently thought he was being hard fouled too much and warned them that the next person that hard fouls him will get layed out. Then he drives the basket inviting the foul, which he got. I don't even think the guy that got hit was the one who fouled McDaniel, who landed on the ground after being fouled.
Where was the compassion from those other guys?, some of the ones that walked away, actually went to the gym's office to get help for Goodrich.
Goodrich said he will be suing in civil court, which will probably be an "undisclosed" amount after McDaniel sign an NFL contract.
To me it is an embarassment to humanity, him, our team, our school, and our community. Our community is very upset about what happened and the handling of it.
