I didn't think the movie Crash said "America is an evil horrible nation where every moment of everyday is filled with bigotry and racism". Funny how he looked at the scenes in a negative light. I thought the movie explained how people who are bigots can cut through it and do the right thing when it is most important. Like when Matt Dillon risks his life to save a woman that could ruin his career. There are other examples as well if needed I will rent Crash again and post my thoughts if wanted.
It's funny it really is how you look at it.....you know your own perspective....I had an argument one night about the second amendmant with 2 guys I consider pretty smart and this line was the basis of their argume......
"A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."
Funny thing was it was used as the base of my argument that it is clearly stated we have the right to bear arms.
Who says to remove bigotry you have to remove rational thought? A quote from someone to back up this statement would be nice.
SO his premiss that the UN is wrong and doesn't work and has problems is fine with me. My question is are we able to change and improve it? We believe we can change the ME by occupying and establishing a democracy. Can we not change the UN? I don't think all Liberals believe the UN is this great wonderful thing. It does give us a ground point to work from. How can you say we needed to invade Iraq because they violated UN sanctions while you show no respect of anything the UN does?
His reference to Robert Lederman, even though he doesn't say his name, seems very misleading here is Lederman's response

This would be easier if someone had a transcript. Let me know if anyone has one so I can cut and paste if not I will try to post more later.
