They wanted to pull the 16 big teams that would get snubbed by the NCAA, but most declined the tourney. Which is also why there is only 8 teams I believe.

It's more like teams snubbed by NIT, CBI and CIT. This is a boner tourney with boner teams but I'm just happy there are games to bet on!!!
