First decide if you want Downtown, or strip, then price range , say $50-70 a night, or whatever, it will make responses more relevant.

Labor Day weekend, you better book early and be ready to spend some big money. That is one of the more expensive and crowded weekends of the year.

The first thing you want to do is go to the hotels' websites and book your rooms there. I don't know about Vegas, but in Reno some of the hotels' rates change dramatically from week-to-week. I.E. at the Reno Hilton, one of the best places in town, you could've got a room for $49/night the week after Memorial Day whereas the week before (these are Sun-Thur) it would have cost you $109/night. There were several others with big discrepancies as well.

You will be paying high rates even at low end places during that weekend.

Come in on the 6th, Monday, and you might not do too bad. Usually the week of a holiday is quiet because no one has conventions during those weeks.

You can get great deals downtown, but not much else going on down there other than the hotel you are staying at. Palms is happening along with the Hard Rock, although their rooms may be pricey for some.

I just looked up Mandalay Bay. It is $269 on the 5th. Only $109 from 6-9, that seems solid. Is that for 2 people or what?

Matt, I would recommend the Imperial Palace because it's very affordable and it's right on the strip.

So do people usually just sneak 2 more in or what? How much is it for 4? Double that?

One kid sleeps on the floor anyway. LOL

Before, I started going regularly and getting comp'd, I stayed at Lady Luck downtown, because it was the cheapest. I think I found it on expedia.com. It was alright for the price and I "hear" that they did a remodel on it.
