Is it true that if you live in Vegas you can open a phone account with a sportsbook there and phone in your plays? If so, do they know that if I dont reside there, where I call my bets in from?

Just wondering if I fly in and post up at a sportsbook there I can wager from back home in my state?

Any help would be appreciated!

They only accept calls from (702) and (775) area codes. If this wasn't the case, the Las Vegas Hilton would have 100,000+ entries in their NFL contest.

belly,

You can mask your # easily now-a-days with the internet and also VONAGE, allows you to choose whatever area code you want. THink this is ok? Do you have to show a nevada license when you open an account?

Or just get a Las Vegas cell phone. How do they payout on phone bets? You probably have to come in to pick up winnings or drop off your losses.

It's been so long, I can't remember. I do know this. Making wagers accross state lines is a serious offense(wire act). Good Luck

what if I go to the DMV, get a nevada license, then open a UPS store mailbox, then fly in whenever to collect or what have you...How in the world if I have a cell with a nevada number would they know...

I could say I am in another state on vacation or whatever...I believe alot of people are doing this...I cant imagine they are not!

For all the work and headache (and risk) you run, why not just use a good offshore book?

Blue I have used the greek, bet j, and carib for sometime and I am a little nervous with the greek and bet j's payout issues here recently. I am a middle of the road bettor, I have had upwards of 10k in my account and again, I'm just a little nervous thats all.....

ON a side note. I just called the Hilton in vegas, they do not have phone acocunts and have no idea who does (maybe texas station?) they do not allow interstate betting or intrastate betting (on the phone). I guess that settles that!

they can tell where you are via GPS, don't try it unless you're a serious pro and can mod your cell
