I was in Vegas last month and had to buy a hat. They are crazy about this team.

Wanted to see a playoff game but they did a 1st round sweep and i got there in that long hiatus between rounds

Knights city

Indeed, but the Raiders are gonna want a piece of the pie. Who woulda thought...Vegas could become one of the best backed sports cities in the nation if the Raiders go over well.

There was never a doubt an NHL franchise would be successful here in terms of attendance, winning or losing.

It was long overdue

Was at the local TARGET this morning, there must have been no less than 400 items of just recently arrived Knights clothing..........the two girls unpacking and displaying said it will be all gone by late Monday afternoon or ealier, they can't keep the shelves stocked fast enough with Knights attire they told me.

Vegas is the most Hated team in any hockey market I've been to well at least the people I have heard talk about them

the NHL handed them a team

how will they change the rules when the next team comes in

think I heard the Caps won 8 games their 1st year

yeah, a whole lot of GM's and owners aint too happy. Wonder what this Vegas franchise will look like once the fad wears off and a patch of losing years ? Phoenix went bankrupt, lol. They are heavy into entertaining their fans during games, kinda of a circus atmosphere rather than a traditional hockey environment ( which of course, Vegas is not) . Working. Great atmosphere...winning keeps folks happy, invested and the bandwagon gets full (see shirt sales, lol).

Seattle will not get so lucky as expansion rules will tighten. With that said, FULL CREDIT to McPhee. He picked the building blocks. And certainly to Gallant. .......... a 3-time Stanley Cup Champion between the pipes....not bad, eh?

Tons of transplanted hockey fans in this city, plus the tourists.................again, this franchise was never doomed to fail, win or lose.

The new crop of fans they've produced, especially with the younger kids, is gravy on the ice.

As far as other GM's being pissed off, some should be for the mistakes they made..............Nate Schmidt could barely crack the starting lineup with the CAPS last year, here with Vegas, he's a star.

By the way, SEVENTEEN players on the current CAPS playoff roster were drafted by the current Knights GM.

The KNIGHTS played at 103+% capacity this past REGULAR SEASON!!!

Problem with a hard cap is that it creates too much parity. MLB/NBA have the right idea I think in that you have revenue sharing but you atleast allow the big market teams to spend more $ by going over the cap in certain situations.

NHL would make a lot more as a league if teams like the Rangers, Bruins, Blackhawks, etc had a little bit of a competitive advantage as these teams have as much as 5-10x the fan bases of some of these sun belt teams.

The Coyotes should move to Wisconsin, Iowa, or North Dakota

could barely crack the lineup? huh? Nate Schimdt was part of Wash 2nd line defense pairing a year ago and was slated for that this year. He had some injury issues a yr ago

He played 72 games with Wash two years ago.

great to see the kids enjoy this great game

I'm happy for the expansion draft haters that grabbed the 500-1 on the Knights...........they should be happy as tick in fur instead of crying.

if there was a luxury tax , the Leafs (one of the richest teams in hockey)would likely go after Tavares AND/OR Carlson/Doughty. Tavares played in the GTHL for the Rebels/Marlboros. He'd love to come home. Tavares/Matthews as a 1-2 punch at C? yikes.

as it is, no way they go after either, imo. MUST sign Nylander this yr, Matthews/Marner next yr.

dont like Lamoriello leaving Toronto. Damn
