VCU + Everyone in the forum and beyond

I went to bed last night liking VCU today especially coming off that loss to ODU. What scares me is that everyone and their mother are on them and they have to play Virgina next.

From what I have seen Illinois State isn't a bad team and could very likely finish in the top half of the Missouri Valley Conference this year. They also recently beat ODU by almost 20.

I am considering a 1half play on them as it seems many of the ranked teams or "Good" teams have jumped out in front early in games this year, taking a sizable lead into halftime. Only to squander that lead and allow for some devistating back door covers. This game reeks of that imo.

Any thoughts on the first half play on VCU at -2 on the road???

Also, if anyone has any thoughts on other 1h plays tonight please share them. I am going to be playing only 1halves this week to see how that pans out. I am thinking it will be profitable and I will post all my plays.

So, VCU gets their asses handed to them by Nova, and what happened next game out??? You don't think the same thing is gonna happen tonight? That game after Nova was AT Oregon so don't let the road game muddy your gray matter. GL

I'll be on some 1H plays tonight...went 16-4-1 on them last week, and my friend told me about this forum. I rode all the big favorites 1H last year because Vegas tries to bully the public away from them early on. Example: Kentucky -32.5 in game, but -23.5 1H. Just screams to stay away. They covered by 43 points in the 1H and 2H only covered by 5 points.


Last week, I took Nova (full game) over VCU because I felt they couldn't keep up with Nova's backcourt...To my surprise, in the 1H they did a great job, but couldn't stick it out. The full game seems like a trap play to me, and I expect VCU to come out fired up after a loss.


Haven't decided what I am doing with that game, if anything, but I am leaning VCU 1H...I will post later tonight.

Sammy - Out of curiosity those 1h plays last week where you went 16-4-1 you mention those being big favorites. Can you shed some light on how big??? I am seriously considering Wyoming 1H tonight and they are somewhere around -10 full game. Would a play like that be something to consider? Thx

That game was not at Oregon, it was in Brooklyn

I bet against Chaminade back to back games in the 1H...

BYU - 9.5 then I doubled up on BYU -4.5 2H

then their next game was against Missouri who was just smoked by Purdue the day before....

Missouri was -8 and I took them

That same day I took Purdue over BYU. They were 1 of two dogs I had.

Butler 1H against UNC and I bet Butler 2H as well...

Kentucky was -19 not 23.5 ** I messed that up...

Duke was -23 and that came in as well over Furman

Then this past Saturday I was on: (1H)

ASU -7.5
BYU (loser) -8.5
Utah -14
St. Mary's -7.5

Tonight the teams I am looking at 1H are:

Texas
Indiana
St. John's
Gonzaga
VCU

I will prob pick 3 of them. Those are just the games that caught my attention off the bat. I'll do more research on the Wyoming for you, I feel like they could lay the wood on Denver. May be a nice play.

Funny enough I also have Indiana and Texas written down for 1h plays. I also really like Wyoming because they always play with a lot of energy and their fans make it really tough on the visitors. Major home court advantage here.

Yeah, my bad on that one. Still doesn't change my mind, hell, Ill State lost three good players before the season began. That was the Barclay's Invite you're referring to, they had the Ducks listed as the "home" team.

Great plays Sammy, just be careful as you have a lot of "neutral" court plays in that list (all the BYU/Purdue/Chaminade/Missourit plays etc...) you may see some subtle differences in true home courts etc... (may be to you advantage, I simply don't know). However, I will agree that there have been a lot of 2H let downs this year for my bets too and I am not a huge favourite bettor).

100%...As the season goes on, I start to see myself shifting towards more dogs. In Football I rarely take favorites this late in the season...last week was on Eagles Moneyline, Falcons, Miami over last night (loser).

I agree with you, I went hard on the favorites at the Maui Invitational, because Chaminade doesn't belong on the court with those teams lol...A few of the High School teams in Chicago would beat them.

Things will start to change with student sections getting involved!


P.S.

One of my dog losers last week was Michigan +4.5 against Nova (at home)...Lost by the hook, and a couple buddies of mine had them at +5...

That was one of my worst losses in a while (the way it ended).
