In an interview with David Lassen in the Sunday edition of the Ventura County Star, former world champion Fernando Vargas stated his last bout is tentatively set for Saturday, September 8th at a venue in Los Angeles. Vargas will not only be the headliner, but will serve as the promoter under his new promotional company, Vargas Entertainment Promotions. Vargas has dismissed critics for following through with his fight against former world champion Ricardo Mayorga. "I've got one more great fight in me. People can say what they want to say.
