UTEP line- reverse psychology by Vegas

On the surface the line looks absurd. Giving 9.5 points to the team that just won a couple of nights ago. Then you can dig deeper and see that it is a home game for UTEP, Oregon St stinks on the road, etc. The "sharp" looking play then becomes UTEP.

I have cruised across a few sports betting forums today and the overwhelming pick is UTEP. It makes me think the bait has worked by Vegas and the folks who think they are "sharp" have fallen for an old switcheroo.

Well, I'm not falling for these shenanigans.

This line of thinking never makes sense- someone is going to win and someone is going to lose. Either the sharps who see how bad oregon st is on the road and think the public is getting trapped into an 8 point swing on the line will lose, or the public and 70 percent of wagerline and the like who cant seem to understand why the line moved so much will lose.

It is simple as that- a line has been set to get action on both sides

Guys, the thing that has me confused about the line is the vast amount of picks across the forums on UTEP. Go check it out, UTEP is the predominant pick. Usually, when its a true "sharp" pick its the other way around. Shit, I don't even know what to think about this now. Regardless, I am on the Beavers, and I'm sticking to it!

There are over 5,000 bets on this game, highest bet NHL game has 2,500. 5,000 would put it in the middle range of today's NBA games. This game isn't even fucking on TV. I made a thread cause I thought the line was funky. Obviously some people care about this game but Vegas isn't one of them. My point is that Vegas isn't trying to get you to bet either side they win no matter what.

I disagree with "old" a153; actually.....99% of the world doesn't care about this game; it's that (1%) that wagers on the one and only college game of the evening which is probably a significant volumn.
