We should have captured Bin Laden...Nail him to a stake, And let the country torture him. Before eventually killing him on National TV at 8 PM on CBS. Make him struggle. and humiliate him. Our problem is either you are alive or dead. Torture, torture, and more torture.
As much as I like that idea I think it would drive terrorism up in the usa.

The U.S. disposed of Bin Laden in private to keep him from being a martyr. I really don't care how they killed him. Dead is dead.

Good thing they killed or Obama would have traded him back for a reach around and a pack of Marlboro's by now.

Punishment should fit the crime....

Stab someone to death, that's how you die.
Steal from someone, lose a hand.
Rape someone, you get raped with all sorts of different objects of size and shape
Molest a child, instant castration and possibly death
Sell illegal drugs, you get thrown into a pit full of used hypodermic needles

List can go on and on.... All should be televised and I guarantee we would see a dramatic stop in crime

After that last guy twitched and convulsed for 10 minutes after lethal injection , i'm about to think that a firing squad is the quickest and painless way to carry out capital punishment. .... better than hanging or electric chair.

There are a few countries in the middle east where they still cut off your hand for stealing. And if you do it again they cut off the other hand. I heard there is an extremely low percentage of second time offenders. I wonder how many murders we would have in this country if we executed them ISIS style

Let's say a kid that lives in the streets steals a loaf of bread to survive... would you cut his hand off? How is he supposed to feed himself? Prostitution? Drug dealing? Mugging people?

Being a civilized country I wouldn't ever want those kinds of punishments in this country. I'm just saying we would have a significant decline in crime if we did. Swift and brutal punishment is a strong deterrent. The trouble is it's so 14th century.

Ignorant post Loomis... happens in CR, happens in the US... yes you are the world power yet you have tons of poverty and homeless people, that includes kids and elderly.

We don't have that in the US, cause if we did the politicians would fix it. All of the past and present presidents wouldn't spend hundreds of millions of taxpayer money every term on vacations, weekly parties, ect., when those millions could do much more for these "supposed" homeless and starving kids.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — The number of homeless children in the U.S. has surged in recent years to an all-time high, amounting to one child in every 30, according to a comprehensive state-by-state report that blames the nation's high poverty rate, the lack of affordable housing and the impacts of pervasive domestic violence.
Titled "America's Youngest Outcasts," the report being issued Monday by the National Center on Family Homelessness calculates that nearly 2.5 million American children were homeless at some point in 2013. The number is based on the Department of Education's latest count of 1.3 million homeless children in public schools, supplemented by estimates of homeless pre-school children not counted by the DOE.
The problem is particularly severe in California, which has one-eighth of the U.S. population but accounts for more than one-fifth of the homeless children with a tally of nearly 527,000.

http://www.newsweek.com/child-homelessness-us-reaches-historic-high-report-says-285052

The report, which draws on data from the U.S. Department of Education (DOE) as well as the Census Bureau, found that children are homeless in every county and state across the country, in rural areas, towns, and major cities, DeCandia tells Newsweek. Numbers in cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York are high, she says, but rural homelessness is also a problem, in areas where support services may be more difficult to access. Researchers found that a majority of the families counted consisted of a young single mother with two children, usually under the age of 6.
