Only problem is it's a sitting duck as the Chinese and Russians are/have developed weapons to take out our carrier fleet from a distance.

Our carriers have no defensive capabilities to the new weapons that have been developed to take them out.

I don't think ships are really the key to the future, although a sovereign nation will never take them out because that means we're all in deep shit anyhow

Nuclear submarines are the killer and the security (IMO, I'm no military expert)
