Seems like a fine plan. I would suggest a room for this only. The match-ups can be posted and we can tweak as we go. Nothing wrong with trying.

Nice suggestion Bill.

It's agreat idea, but I see a lot of bullshit in our future if you attempt to implement such a thing at the Rx, with everyone vying to be declared the new "expert" in each aspect of the process.

Try it on an off-site location and invite whomever you wish. The results should be impressive -- it is hard to imagine that betting syndicates rely simply on "hot cappers."

I love this idea, but didn't it already come to froition this past NFL season?

Better make sure you have Panther's permission before posting this sticky topics...

I would love to see this concept come to life, but there are WAYYYYYYYYYYY to many "I's" in The Rx

Unfortunately I am afraid you are right about the egos running around here. I just don't get why people get off on saying they picked winners. Personally I couldn't care less, the bottom line is putting money in your own bankroll. Some years ago a pretty wise player who dabbled in posting boards and had some experience with other forums of shared picks told me this tidbit:

Next time you think about becoming a regular poster of your plays, think about it this way. If you post winners that you don't bet, you will kick yourself. If you post winners that you bet, there just might be someone that took those picks and made more money than you from it and you won't get a dime from him. If you lose and no one bets them, you just look stupid and no one will pay attention going forward. If you lose and someone did back you for big money, you will be wishing that you only looked stupid and that no one paid attention to you. So how do you benefit??? Unless someone else whose opinion you highly value and trust says "post your plays or I don't post my plays or info" there is no good reason to do it except once in awhile just for a conversation piece on a big game.

I have followed that advice ever since. Once in awhile will post a winner on a big game, like the total on the GT game today, but I would never get into the habit of regularly posting plays outside of a contest opportunity, and even those I don't take too seriously.

Hey if people put up something like this I am all for joining the information gathering effort when I can and making a pick or two to help the process along. I still will pay close attention to the others because I readily admit that I am merely a profitable player in the sports I bet, but there are certainly better people posting here than me and I would love to get better insight into what they are doing to be winners.

ANYWAY WE COULD DO THIS IN THE SPORTS FORUMS INSTEAD OF A SEPERATE ROOM?

RPM, all the "egos" are in the sports forums..

In my opinion, a seperate folder would garner only those that are truly dedicated to it.

Just my opinion

hey fellas im glad you are experimenting with new ideas. the thing i would most like to see is a better tracking method for the resident cappers.

now the software is out there and if i can help you implement it let me know. but one should be able to click on a particular capper and see his record in all sports and particular year with archives

also to get the best cappers you need to offer some great incentives for each season without the inclusion of the sportbooks as that taints the whole process.

in affect you will have some rx cappers that people could rely on if they so choose without any deception.

what a great concept, have a great discussion about the games, while at the same time have a legitimate contest that encourages people to become a top rx capper and with the victors go the spoils

despite all my comments that might seem negative from me this is the best site on the net but i just cant figure out why you dont take it to the next level.

anyways good luck with all that your trying to do

Hell, I'd get in on it too for what little I could bring to the table, but I wouldn't want to run it publicly on the Rx or any other forum. Just too many bitch-goddesses clamoring for attention when a serious project is being attempted. I'd say do it for the duration of MLB, see how it goes, keep good records, then next season start posting plays from "the syndicate" or whatever you want to call it.

In that capacity I'd be all in it, and anyone that would like to discuss setting it up off-site is welcome to contact me at phaedrus_rx "at" mailvault "dot" com

Phaedrus & cheater, I would be glad to keep this project as clean as possible. If I can get a room together, will you 2 head it up? You guys can run it and I will moderate it. No BS, No politics.

Let me know. If you want to talk privately, email me your thoughts.
