I saw something today I don't recall seeing before. With USC up 45-17 and the clock down to about 7 seconds, Stanford called time out and set up for a field goal. Whats strange is until then both teams looked to be doing whatever they could to get the game over with.
After Stanfords time out, USC took one. Stanford then pulled the field goal unit off the field and sent in the wide outs package. With no time left on the clock Stanford completes a pass in the end zone......TD.
This makes it 45-23, and with the x point, it'd be 45-24, a winner for those with SC-22.
Only the ref's opted to just end the game. I guess thats happened before in games where I had no money in play, and therefore wouldn't have noticed.
The line, depending on when you played it, was -22, -23 or -24. So it did matter
How often do the ref's opt to just not have an extra point? Is it automatic in games where it won't tie or win?
I'm mentioning this, because the SC game was probably seen by 300 households, who were looking for the knife channel and got their by mistake.
