Simply amazing. What is truly great is just how easy he makes it look, almost as if he is not even trying.

All depends on how you define the word. I have no problem with people calling him the best of all time.

Agreed. The amount he's taking off this 100m record is insane.

He and Phelps are both athletes that are doing amazing things in their respective sports... Very special time.

Boy, i hope it never comes out that he was on the juice. It is unheard off to take off the times he has been registering. He is not taking off 1 hundred's of a second, but 1/10 or more every time he runs.Having run at not quite an elite level but close, worked and worked like hell to improve just 1/100 th of a second in the 100 or 200.I/10 th is usually about a yard or a full stride. He makes it look so easy.It is hard to believe the US supremacy both in ladies and men's sprint's has taken a beating like this. I'm sitting on the fence with this for awhile. I know he was a prodigy at 16, but there have been many US prodigy's that don't do what he is doing.

Damn he just broke the WR in the 200M...insane.
It's nuts! The guy is my hero!! I grew up watching Carl Lewis, so this is pretty cool.

BERLIN – Usain Bolt has set a world record of 19.19 seconds in the 200 meters at the world championships, adding to the gold he won in the 100.
Exactly one year after taking gold at the Beijing Games with a record of 19.30, Bolt had an even greater run Thursday. He shaved 0.11 seconds off his previous mark, as he did in setting the record in the 100 on Sunday.
Alonso Edward of Panama was second, a distant 0.62 seconds behind. Wallace Spearmon of the United States took the bronze.
Defending champion Tyson Gay was out with an injury.

He should be cashing in on his success and fame with some endorsement deals while he can

Look at Phelps. Swimming doesn't pay jack, but those ad deals sure do.

Are you kidding? Sure you have a label best basketball player, best football player, best swimmer or whatever...

How about FASTEST human being ever, and not just by a little bit, by a LOT. Literally, you are looking at someone who is the fastest person ever... that has a lot of weight to it...

PTI segment today debates whether or not he is the most exciting athlete in sports right now.

I have to say YES! Without a doubt.

If simply being fast was so truly great, why do customers spend so much less money supporting that than they do guys who are fast and can catch a pass or are fast and can shoot a basketball?

because a game is more entertaining to watch, especially a team sport...

how many times in a year do you want these guys to run for 10 seconds? it makes for thrilling sport for those 10 seconds, but you can't do it all the time.

Always hard to determine who's a great "athlete"

All athletes either run fast, are lightning quick, jump high, have great balance, agility, great handlers with a football, basketball, baseball, puck, soccer ball, etc., great instincts, and so many other things. Of course many have a combination of several, which could separate athletes into groups from average to great.

So even though this guy is FAST, can he do anything else?
Does that really make him one of the greatest "athletes" ever?

In my opinion, the best word, or talent, that separates athletes from each other, is Coordination.
This is the one thing that if an athlete has a lot of, carries over having a number of the talents listed further above, as well as being good at other sports.
Does Usain Bolt have any of the above?

We'll probably never know.....
