Easy to say when you're not the one captured.
I'm not sure of that....hasn't the US had tens of thousands of Military Members captured over the years who haven't gone on camera 20 minutes after they were "captured" apologizing?...
Maybe they promised this guy a "safe space"...
We're not technically "at war" with Iran. So they are not "the enemy" (technically). However, the Geneva Convention does come into play here and what they did (filming and taking pictures and rummaging through the boats) was a violation. The LT should have kept his mouth shut however. But I'm curious to know if they were threatened.
Disagree. He didn't say anything disloyal. He admitted they were in Iranian Waters by mistake. They were. At the point he spoke, as the Commanding Officer, his main objective was getting his people home safe and sound. He said and did nothing wrong, and in my eyes, he's a hero. His name is Lt David Nartker, and I salute him for his bravery and his service. He also looks like Gronk. You keep your mouth shut period.....
Don't know what the fuk they were thinking....
Even though you were being sarcastic, It actually was. Diplomacy worked, avoided a potentially horrible situation. Those are the things Obama was elected twice for. Without opening up communication lines with Iran, this would have ended far differently and far more tragically for all concerned.Obama at his Best ...
The whole thing is ridiculous. When I deployed over there that is the command I was assigned to, Naval Expeditionary Combat Command. We provided port security and didn't go out as far as those boats were, but the whole thing is unbelievable. The fact that they were filmed and humiliated for propaganda purposes is disturbing. And the "Iran Deal" that our president negotiated w/ that regime is inexcusable. All for the sake of his "legacy".

Sorry but this is Not Navy protocol, or any other military protocol that I know of.
and don't think Obama's Open Communication has anything to do with Filming these Men & Women with their hands on their heads and making them say what they said. It was all to
humiliated Them, and the U.S
and BTW, I Didn't vote for him Twice, or Once. Only the Fools bought into his BS
I'm sure you didn't. I'm sure 95% of the RX didn't, but this place is detached from reality Politically. Over 50% of the Voters did, twice, and probably would again if given the chance. And it's not because he's all that good, he's not, but that the alternative is/was so bad.Sorry but this is Not Navy protocol, or any other military protocol that I know of.

Would you have preferred he and his sailors been shot and killed, and their corpses returned to us, or that they be kept Prisoners for days/months/years? Or by apologizing for their error, they get released, no one gets hurt. I could care less about Propaganda pictures if American lives were saved.
