For BoxingFreak, Sphincter, almly... I'd love to get yours and any other boxing sharps opinions on these fights coming up in January:

Acelino Freitas vs. Artur Grigorian

Arturo Gatti vs. Gianluca Branco

Oh, and Danell Nicholson... do you think he has a chance at all at beating Wladimir Klitschko. Wladimir has a crappy chin, but Nicholson, IMO, fights scared. But I heard Ross Puritty is going to be in his corner, helping him prepare. (this fight is next weekend by the way)

Thanks,

B-KO

I havent seen Grigorian, Branco, or the guy fighting Wlad ever fight. I will say that I think Freitas needs a new trainer and that he's beatable. I just havent ever seen the guy he is fighting although I've heard of him. The Feb 7th fights are the ones I'll probably be capping. Tszyu vs Mitchell and Mcline vs Toney.

It says that Leija vs Bojado is the undercard to Gatti vs Branco. I heard it was going to be Bojado vs Michael "No joke" Stewart but Stewart was in a car crash last week and hurt his back.
I think I'll be taking a hard look at Bojado in this one. I think Leija seriously has no heart and will quit if he starts to feel Bojados power.

Let's take them in order of dates scheduled.

Klitschko vs Nicholson: There are not many boxers, much less heavyweights, in the sport that have the tools and ability of Wladimir Klitschko. Although I have never seen his opponent in action, I am sure that Klitschko will be able to take care of business on the night he faces Nicholson. My prediction is Klitschko wins by KO in 8 rounds or less.

Artur Grigorian vs Acelino Freitas: Freitas fights with lots of passion and desire. He has been brought along slowly, never having faced a solid competitor. This will be his first test. Based on Grigorian's history, he should have some boxing ability. Unfortunately, for this bout I do not have a prediction because I have never seen Grigorian in action. Not withstanding, I would not put anything past Freitas and his will to win.

Gatti vs Branco: It appears that Branco has not had a real challenge thus far in his career. And facing Gatti is no easy task. I expect Gatti to win this fight easily in expectations of bigger and better things down the road. My prediction is Gatti wins by Unanimous Decision.

Good work, guys. But I do think Acelino Freitas has faught a solid boxer in Joel Casamayor - who I pick to beat Corrales in their rematch in March.

I apologize for having totally forgotten about Casamayor, who is a true talent and threat at super-featherweight. Since Freitas' bout with Casamayor, he has fought lesser competition. This has been the theme surrounding Freitas since his bout with Casamayor and the reason I did not acknowledge or recall his bout with Casamayor. But indeed, Casamayor is one of the true boxers in the sport.

So this will be Freitas' next test in addition to having fought Joel Casamayor.
