Also read that CR didn't protest per the requirements before the start of the match and didnt file a protest during the match with the Ref. This goes along with reports saying that CR wanted to play the game.

"
Costa Rica could retaliate by staging the return fixture in the Saprissa stadium, an small but intimating venue where the fans are close to the pitch, rather than the new National Stadium, which has a running track around the field."

So, CR thinks it best to put the players in close proximity to the fans and allow them to be possibly hit by thrown objects. Sounds like they totally care about player safety...

i heard that the fans were throwing snowballs to Navas (goalkepper) during the game, so what diff does that make?, anyways i think usa team has always played in tibas

In every fan base there are always some people that are going to do things that go against sportsmanship. I have no clue if it happened or not, I'd lean toward yes, but saying yes means that only 1 snowball had to be thrown. The only thing I'd add is, that that particular snowfall wasn't snowball worthy. When it's below freezing (it was 29F and windy) and it's powdery, which it seems to me it was, it wont form a ball unless you warm it up a little, like adding water or taking your gloves off forming it with your body heat. I think that alone would deter most people. But like I said, every fan base has some hooligans.

Any idea how long they'll hold off until they announce? The US has announce locations for all of it's home games.

So, here is how they do it in Europe when it snows.

A group of Scottish supporters helped remove snow from the pitch where their national team is due to play a 2014 FIFA World Cup™ qualifier with Serbia later this evening.

Dressed in traditional kilts and jerseys of their national team, the Scots took shovels and removed snow from a part of the field, helping local clearing services.
Snow that was falling in Serbia since the early hours covered the field where the match was to take place at 20.30 CET. Both Serbia and Scotland's chances of making it to the finals in Brazil next year look slim.
The Scots are bottom of Group A and trail joint leaders Belgium and Croatia by 11 points, while Serbia are fourth nine points adrift with five matches remaining.

Jamaica had their chances, Costa Rica certainly didnt walk away with it. Campbell had a poor game. But 3 points none the less. Fucking Panama leads the hex.

I would like our team to qualify along with Panama, the States and Jamaica. Mexico and Honduras can watch it from home. Good result for USA as well buddy :toast:

Wishful thinking that Mexico won't advance. I also don't think it would be a good thing for the region. Mexico started bad the last Hex as well. I think they recover and win the group. US should be second (thats counting a loss in San Jose/Tibas), with Costa Rica and Honduras fighting out for 4th. For now, I think CR has the edge based upon defending the home field. Honduras tied at home. June 7th is round 1 here in CR. That is going to be a huge game. Costa Rica, to get 3rd, has to beat Honduras here.

Where's Hangman, and why he chickened out and deleted his soccer ignorant post? ~~:

Maybe I didn't want to get threatened with a violent retaliation like you did to NES and his family? I'd rather go live my quiet life than get into an internet debate with a loose cannon like you that you are going to take personal.

LOL. Nes and I buried the hatchet and you keep crying for that? Move on... and he admitted he overstated the situation.

Looks like my line was pretty sharp. Are we ready to beat this horse some more?

Haha you win. In my defense, the Saprissa pitch was pretty beat up and wasnt ready when FIFA needed to receive notice on which stadium was gonna be used, that was the main set back i guess.

When hasn't the rug in Tibas not been beat up? Mexico complained about it 4 years ago. I heard it was as much the lack of drainage and lighting as much as the pitch. $700k worth of repairs, with little time and little available work force due to the World Cup preparations here.

I'm enjoying the rag paper Al Dia. Total lack of objectivity over the last few month, but I get it. They cater to the fanbase. The "sorry, no snow" headline gave me a chuckle.

What's your liver tell you about the outcome?

And then what does your head say?

LOL Lee, you are a character.

My liver tells me CR wins 2-1, my mind tells me is a draw. CR is going to be very offensive and the USA plays perfect counter-attack.
