Unit unhappy about being scratched in Tampa

New York Yankees left-hander Randy Johnson is unhappy about being scratched from his scheduled start Wednesday because of left groin tightness. The Yankees decided Monday to have Johnson skip his turn in the rotation after being hurt in the ninth inning of his previous start last Friday against Toronto. His spot will be filled by rookie Sean Henn, who will be called up from Double-A Trenton.

"It feels fine," Johnson said before Tuesday night's game against Tampa Bay. "I could have pitched tomorrow."

yeah and if he did pitch and aggrevate it, there goes his season. yanks are doing the right thing.

Wil, if Johnson is "The Big Unit", then Kevin Brown is "The Minus Big Units"

KB is "the Ken Griffey of pitchers" ~aka~ a surefire early-to-middle career on pace HOFer that died somewhere along the way, yet a ghost still walks around in his uni collecting fat paychecks.

Johnson's aging speed is starting to cost him badly, as his flatline/no movement fastball and slider are being tagged when not quite fully cutting across the plate to handcuff hitters, as it seems every homer he allows is the same trajectory and place over the plate.

It's early, but Toronto is looking uber-improved, and are on pace to be the AL's answer to Az in the NL as most improved.

Balt and Toronto are gonna be in the thick of it, and the AL East may well not be decided amongst it's tough company(seem destined to beat each other up into a jumble SEC style?), but rather by which of the AL East teams fare best when traveling to Central teams and West Coast trips?

RPM, I wonder if RJ may be just being feisty as to light a competitive fire in the club, though he is a warrior that can rival Jim Rome's Erstad for MLB's Red@ss award.
