On over 91, played the under last night against Sac town and got sunk. ATL still has something left in the tank to get 40 odd points and Phoenix over 50 points

66 point 3rd qtr. I learned my lesson well. I just don't understand how they go hard in the second half but Pho. manages to do it. What's scary is this year's team is not as good as last year's team.

Generally speaking all WNBA teams have the majority of players in great shape. However Phoenix by far has the best conditioned team as they play like this from day 1.

Can you imagine if they still had Penny Taylor? They would be hell to deal with. I love how they won it bec. They showed an uptempo pace can still win titles. Where did Westhead end up BTW? NBA asst coaching gig? I thought I heard he went to the Nuggets?

He is an assistant with the Sonics as he is close friends with P.J.

They might get Taylor back after the Olympics. Her status is always a question every season even with no Olympics. If the salary's don't improve soon, we might see full time defections from the WNBA.

They have to improve the quality of the league first then they can get off the subsidy the NBA is still secretly is giving them and be self sufficient. It's hard to watch sometimes because of the missed layups and obvious shortcomings compared to the men. They're going to have to be inventive to capture the attention of b-ball fans. Phoenix is doing a good job with their arena football type scores.

Easily over with more than 4 minutes left in the 4th qtr. If the books don't adjust accordingly I'm going to keep hammering these

yea, i agree they need to make changes to the game. The NBA always does. Is their rim at 10 feet? maybe they should lower it. also, not to be sexist, but having uniforms like brasils national team wouldn't hurt either. :103631605 I mean most of the women I know that watch the NFL is for the same reason.

The quality has vastly improved in this league & it will only get better. Just a few years ago we wouldn't be seeing the competitive balance that we do. We can still improve though especially in terms of the draft. Some talented players are not getting in which is a shame.

My only fear is the sexist nature of men towards women playing professional sports. Lets face it men are the driving market in sports & if they don't get into the WNBA, it might never reach the levels I would like. I don't know if women will bond enough to get together & make this league rise through fan support. It has gotten better though.

A player I can't wait to see in the WNBA is Maryland PG Kristi Tolliver as she should be a #1 overall pick when she comes out. She has ice water in her veins & will be a future MVP in my opinion.

well they can start by having the games on tv. here in chicago, we have the chicago sky, and i dont think they have a tv deal. for now, having it with baseball as the only other alternative to baseball to bet on during sumertime.., is what is keeping the mens interest. and it will only increase as it seems that bettors are having far more success with wnba then with baseball. So that will only help it, if not its intended way to promote itself.. it still benefits the league.

You bring up an excellent point theboy1dur. I am amazed at how after 11 years, all the games are not televised. While I understand the games not being on nationally, it is inexcusable to have games not available locally.

It would be nice to see a league pass sometime in the next 3-5 years. I also would like to see improved use of team websites as they do not have the most updated information every time.

They had a WNBA league pass for several years to no success. I believe it wasn't profitable. Also just last year some teams had all home local games on TV, like the Mystics here, but they yanked the plug on that as well. I'm glad they fired Tree Rollins too. That guy was clueless.

I don't recall the league pass option. They should definitely bring it back within the next couple of years as the league is light years ahead of where it used to be.

Fans I have spoken with have complained about games not being on tv & I see their complaint. In & around NYC, almost all the Liberty games are broadcasted. I was shocked when I tried to watch a couple of games recently & they were not on. MSG hardly has any programming so it is in excusable that the Liberty games were not on.

The NBA is a star driven league. It took a while for it to get going.. even with Magic and Larry, it took MJ to really get it off. Candace Parker will do that. Also, that girl from Maryland you mentioned, EGD, i remember watching her in the tourny last year. The whole CP being hurt and Tenn. story during the tourny last year promotes the players more. I tend to look in the box score for rookies that I saw play in last year's tourny.

So I think familiarity with the players will help out a lot. Also, I never thougth I would say this, but they should be like hollywood actresses and keep their original surname, and not change it when they get married. It confuses the hell out casual fans who dont follow it every day. The Olympics should def. help as well. Who is on the US team? Are they the favorites to win?

Yeah I had the WNBA League Pass a couple of years ago for $99 but barely watched a game on it. I lost interest after about the first week as I was trying to scout teams. It was very hard to watch at times.

You should have seen her when they won the 2006 National Title. She was just a cold blooded assassin at times. I have been a fan of her game for years now.

I do see your point about the names as it tends to get confusing. I've caught myself scratching my head a couple of times on that one.

The U.S. is the favorite to win it all & their roster is:

Seimone Augustus

Sue Bird

Tamika Catchings

Sylvia Fowles

Kara Lawson

Lisa Leslie

DeLisha Milton-Jones

Candace Parker

Cappie Pondexter

Katie Smith

Diana Taurasi

Tina Thompson

They are the heavy favorite to win although I love Australia's chances as they have the best player in the world on their side in Lauren Jackson. Throw in Penny Taylor & a strong defensive guard in Tully Bevilaqua, & it only adds to their chances.

Don't sleep on Russia either who will be strong with Hammon, D. "Tweety Bird" Nolan, & K. Miller, & Stepnova

It is clearly down to the U.S., Australia, & Russia. I look for a U.S.-Australia final where Australia wins.
