I love umpire angles, but these are very small sample sizes.

They are listed in the Service Plays Forum. They are very hit and miss because of the small sample size. I would proceed with caution using them.

It was a split.

Small sample sizes are dangerous. Philly was 2-7 to the under against LH pitchers. Game went over today.

I can give you hundreds of small sample size situations. If you bet on small sample sizes over a period of time, you will more often than not lose.

Biz, it is what it is, and that is information being shared. Everyday there are way more dangerous and or irresponsible posts than sharing some early season umpire trends. In fact, daily I see trends over a decade that lose on any given day.

I'm saying you should take it with a grain of salt. Don't let it be the ONLY reason you make a play. Use it in addition to other factors.

I would not make a play based solely on this information, thats all.

We agree 100%.

I don't thing umpires make a difference whether or not a dog or favorite wins. There are far more reasons as to why a fav/dog wins besides an umpire. Its coincidental.

Now, totals are another thing. An umpire's distinct strike zone can absolutely affect the total, and I would monitor umpires over/under trends. I have several angles based specifically on umpires.

I'm not trying to shit all over the guy's thread. Just cautioning against using these early, small sample size trends blindly.

Biz, I agree. Still early. If you noticed the first sentence of my post, I stated that it may be early to play these. As it turned out Paul Nauert was HP umpire in NYY game 1. Umpires were not posted for those games before I had to leave yesterday. He was 6-1 to the over, so it ended up 2-2 on totals, and 1-2 for sides. I will continue to post when I am able. I do agree with BIZ regarding side plays. Will probably stick to totals only. If I remember right Paul Emmel had an unbelieveable record last year to the over.

Merkyone, I get my umpire information from Sports Options. The only problem is that the umpire assignments are hard to get for the first game of a series. They get posted maybe 30 minutes before gametime, unless someone knows where to get them quicker.

Atlanta has many subsets to the under.

Home, RH pitching, Favored.

Milwaukee plays to the Under at home and Over on the road. Over at night and as a dog.

Peralta a pure Under pitcher this year. Minor pitched 2 good games and the 1 bad one vs Cards.

Atlanta has struggled offensively. Its either Under or nothing for me.

When I get the umpire assignments I'll post them.
